Don't kill the messenger LOL

quote:

Although many financial analysts and political forecasters contend that President Donald Trump is likely to be reelected in November because incumbents typically win reelection when the economy is strong, Trump is not a typical incumbent. These are not typical times.

At the outset, Trump will be the only impeached president to have run for reelection. Given that nearly 47 percent of the public believes he should be removed by the Senate, he seems to be starting his campaign from an unusually weak position. By way of comparison, it is helpful to recall that at the outset of President Bill Clinton’s impeachment trial in the Senate, only about one-third of Americans wanted Clinton removed from office.

And while the Republican majority in the Senate may reject removing Trump from office, they cannot remove the still-metastasizing scandal that surrounds his actions with regard to Ukraine. The Senate can ignore, but it cannot remove, the damning facts and testimony from the public record, which show that Trump asked a foreign leader to investigate a potential 2020 rival and illegally withheld military assistance in an effort to gain leverage.

WHAT scandal surrounding his actions with regard to Ukraine and WHAT damning facts and testimony? Anybody other than a blind partisan hack can see this for what it is.

You mean the one that nobody in real America cares about?

I love when these beltway wonks try to educate us lowly voters.

It's The Hill, which has less credibility than The Babylon Bee. (Actually the Bee has more credibility than 99.9% of what is called "news")

Everyone that voted for him last election will do so again and the Dems do not have a candidate that will get people to the polls.

This is wishful thinking backed by a rationale from someone who is anti-Trump. Recent polling (i.e. post impeachment) indicates otherwise. And the offensive hasn't even started.

Don't get me wrong - it won't be a cakewalk. The media and social media overlords will do everything they can get away with to prevent reelection. But the purpose of these articles are to depress pro-Trump support. Don't fall for it.

We should though.

Just because you see something on the Internet, that does not mean it has any merit or validity.

But since we are posting random thoughts, here

All that poll shows is that he loses the popular vote again.

It all depends on how he does in a handful of states and how the electoral vote goes. National head to heads mean pretty much bupkis.

You can be a puppet and believe what the media tells you are you can open your eyes and see the lowest unemployment, lower taxes, great job market, higher wages, etc. Truth is the democrats are so desperate that they are trying a hail mary with the impeachment, and it has only backfired on them. Trump isn't going anywhere. Truth is the Dems are so desperate I expect they will try to impeach him 2-3 more times.

The only thing this really tells me--and I find it depressing--is that those who are inclined not to vote for Trump almost uniformly support his removal from office. Plenty of people, including myself, who were not going to vote for Clinton did not wish to see him removed despite his clear commission of perjury while in office. Note the "33%" figure for Clinton as cited in the OP's link. With polls showing that 47% want Trump removed, there is very little daylight between those who merely wish to vote against Trump (approx 50%) and those who also would support removal. Although I personally not care for Trump, I am troubled that so few likely Democratic voters can see the current impeachment as the partisan debacle is.

Total garbage written by a hack.

Toss it in the trash.

If you want your opinion taken seriously you need to be serious.

You know what? I EXPECT any President to question extortion. Biden appeared to be shaking down the Ukraine and Trump wanted to know more. Big frigin deal.

If Biden was on tape bragging about murdering someone is Trump forbidden to be interested in that too?

Bring on the DVs, Trumpkins.

Trump has a difficult reelection irrespective of impeachment.

Dems have a built-in EC advantage thanks to CA (1/5 of needed EC votes) and demographics. VA is Dem now. Remember the '70s when Illinois was considered a GOP state? :laughcry:

MSM is rabidly, almost psychopathically anti-Trump. As a great man (you're reading his post now) once said, running for office as a Republican is like showing up at Lambeau Field to discover you have to play the Packers and the Bears at the same time.

Try to remember that the average voter chooses his breakfast cereal by looking at the pretty pictures on box and never reads the labels.

I think Trump is reelected, but it will be close.

National polls are is meaningless today as they were for years ago. But if you look only at the “gimme” states (NewYork, California, Texas, etc.), Trump starts in a bit of a hole. He needs a really good day in the purple states. Personally, I think he will get it.
