President Trump's venture into crypto products has increased his family's wealth by billions in the last six months, according to a new report, as his administration continues to loosen the federal government's regulatory approach to the digital currency industry as a whole.

The group State Democracy Defenders Action estimated in a new report that the president's crypto holdings now represent nearly 40% of his net worth — or approximately $2.9 billion.

Good point about all of us being prone to hypocrisy. It's the failure to admit the hypocrisy that's annoying.

Exactly.

This isn't about who's worse -- whether Hunter's $ laundering scam or President Trump's inappropriate cryptocurrency hawking and profiteering; They are both dead wrong. And they both conducted these blatant shenanigans in broad daylight.

I'm disappointed that few have called out the President.

He donated his salary in his first term as well. Try again.

Sorry. Many of us are basically numb to hypocrisy after Trumps sham first term Impeachment while Biden was on video admitting to doing the very thing Trump was accused of.

I get the frustration; the Left has no morals or ethics. And the Left's constant hypocrisy and lack of accountability is never ending. That said we have to try to resist taking their bait with "goose / gander" rationale and compromising on OUR principles and ethics.

So it's the PERSON that defines whether the act is good or not?

I think that's the disconnect between Christians and Trump worshipers.

Yep.

Our side has to think this through more. Especially Believers. Our Leaders should and must be expected to serve as the much better example of integrity.

Can you explain this crypto dinner? Was it a fundraiser or was trump selling something?

It was more of a manipulation of a stock or security (or however they classify "meme coins") to run up the price and make money. It is no coincidence that several of the "guests" either were or are under various levels of investigation of fraud and other possible SEC crimes.

ETA: I mean come on......they made the announcement of the dinner at a point when the Trump memecoin was in the shitter saying that the top investors in the coin would get to have dinner with the President. The coin rallied greatly (even covered in a thread here which conveniently left out the dinner part). Since that rally it is quickly headed back down. That's the reality of what happened.

Fundraiser for the midterms versus personal pocket change.

So simple even Hank Johnson gets it, just not poliboard liberals and concerned trolls.

A Bitcoin and crypto regulatory conference has nothing to do with his business on Ethereum. The business was making a killing before Trump was president a second time.

Maybe you guys should learn crypto. Start by learning how to buy Bitcoin. From there you can learn alt coins.

Trump got so persecuted and hosed legally and financially, he’s clearly going to be completely shameless with any grimey grift this term

Can’t all the say I blame im. He spent two years in courts on frivolous bullshite and spent millions of attys, they tried to steal his hotel, and ramped up the rhetoric until he got shot in the face

I don’t love it but it doesn’t bother me either
