Something radically different. Unfortunately people don't lose it until there's nothing left to lose. Remember the Orwellian we're all it in together mantra from 2020-21. The truth was always the opposite and really that remains the problem, we're divided and only thinking of the personal costs involved, imho. Divide and conquer still works.

I don't disagree with you, I'm just not seeing the solution you're offering.
Do you think there is a solution through the electoral process?

I’m a staunch conservative and I’ve voted red for all of my life.
Trump is a con-artist who managed to swindle the GOP, millions of GOP voters, and moderates into supporting him. He did it with a masterful media marketing campaign that effectively framed his platform under the guise of populism.
Populism is nothing more than an emotionally charged campaign tactic that deceives uneducated blue-collar people into thinking that they’re up against an elite state that wants to disenfranchise them.
Trump has never once given a frick about the average working man. He’s an aristocratic real estate tycoon from NYC who’s been sued hundreds of times for fraudulent business practices and has a history of being a womanizer.

Two things can be true: populism is a tactic used to gain voters and America is still a a plutocracy

My issue was you said people were deceived into believing they as blue collar commoners, were up against the elite after saying in the previous post we are up against the elite.

I was simply making an observation that wealth buys politics in America.
I wasn’t using that observation to rally other common folk to “rebel” against the system. That’s what populism is and that’s where you got it wrong.

Unfortunately no and I so wish there were. I lean towards the whole system is rigged and has been for a long time. Crazy, I know, but the powers that ought not be play the long game of manipulation.

Were people "decieved" into believing they were up against an elite ruling class? Is there a plutocracy as you said? I said nothing about rebelling.

Trump purposely used the populism schtick to deceive mainly blue-collar/uneducated voters into thinking that he was the messiah who would save them from the deep state. It was all for his gain. That’s the point I’m trying to make.
No one is arguing that there’s a problem with wealthy lobbyists influencing policy making.
