Abortion is killing republicans. He’s smart not to get hung up on the abortion issue.

What’s funny is everyone who hates abortion would also hate it if thousands of poor, ignorant, likely democrat-voting women with no fathers had babies each month destined to grow up and be dependent on the government’s teat.

The best thing any Republican can do is stop government spending on abortion, encourage alternatives, and never outlaw it except for late term. If you can’t understand this, you’re a religious wacko who can’t see the truth.

Good. It shouldn’t be legislated at the federal level.

What a stupid question anyway because no such ban would ever get through Congress.

I agree and so does DeSantis. Trump wants to use political capitol though trying to make Democrats happy on an abortion compromise at the Federal level though. That's exactly what he said in this clip. If you are cool with that or you are just Pro Choice maybe he is your candidate. If not there is an alternative.

According to the constitution, it cannot. Yet they do. Amazing.

The constitution does not grant the federal government power to decide abortion and specifically affords that power to states.

Trump wants to be liked by Dems so badly, which also explains him embracing LBGTQ agenda.

He doesn't want to drain the swamp - he's just mad that he's not part of the swamp.

I don't know who you think cares.

Trumpanzees don't care about policy. They wouldn't care of Trump wanted to abolish the constitution and remake the US into a socialist nation.

That's not what this is about for them. They have a giant celebrity man-crush on Trump and nothing else matters.

Very meltish.

Vote for the child grooming democrats then, if you dont like the GOP nominee.

I wouldn’t either

Any ban proposed at the federal level just gives scotus another shot at making abortion legal everywhere again

When people remember that trump was a lifelong democrat who occasionally cosplays as a Republican, everything he does makes sense.

"bUt He oWnS tHe LiBs!" is what they try to tell me, but because of him the Dems got the WH, Senate, House, and many state legislatures. Seems a lot to give people who you allegedly own.

that's one thing.

It's another to say that signing heartbeat bills was a terrible thing.

This right here is a major test of the pro-life movement and those who claim to be pro-life.

Trump follows polls; Desantis follows his convictions.

How stupid are you?

The entire position of the party is “states determine their own laws on this” and Miss Lindsay attempting to push this in 2022 is blamed for the Dems doing better than expected.

Would I like this to be law? Yes. But it isn’t what the party needs and taking a stand on this so far out from the election would be a transparent “gotcha” to explain any irregularities on Election Day.

How freakin sad and sick is it that politicians basically barter over when it’s too late to kill unborn babies. This country is gone

Trump is trying to win a national election not the primary.

He knows how Republicans were beaten up on abortion.

Abortion is not a national issue.

Trump won the battle of Roe vs Wade. A decades long battle many thought unwinnable.

Trump doesn't need to prove anything on abortion.

They've always been phenomenal at stepping on their own dicks. To be honest, I think they're agenda is to always be the party out of power. It's a much easier path to the lobbies when you can just punch up and not actually do fricking shite.

Says Damone, a far left wacko nut job, about a billionaire who is one of 45 men in history to be President of the United States. The delusions are just amazing to watch.

I don’t know Trump’s reasoning here and I frankly don’t care. However he arrived at that decision, it is the correct answer.

Whatever your opinion on the matter, abortion should be an issue decided at the level of the individual States. Indeed, all these hot button social issues that so divide Red and Blue States should be decided at the state and/or municipal level.

Rachel, the supreme court kicked it back to the states.
It's a state matter.
