"They never did it. But, they could have done it. And they did it now in response to our invasion. So, because they did it, that shows we needed to act."
---
Iranian "fast boats" would swarm commercial vessels, demanding they state their cargo, destination, and nationality to assert "Iranian sovereignty" over international waters.
At points, they conducted small-scale attacks using limpet mines on two or three tankers, cause maritime insurance companies to "restructure" or cancel coverage for the entire region.
More recently Iran jammed or "spoofed" GPS signals in the strait, making a ship's navigation system show it was in international waters when it was actually being lured into Iranian territorial waters. Once the ship "violated" Iranian waters, it was detained. This allowed Iran to seize a ship while claiming they were merely enforcing maritime law.
In February 2026 (just before the war), Iran announced a full closure of the strait for "live-fire drills" during nuclear negotiations.
The result in each of these cases was that, even if the water was physically clear, the Strait was de facto "closed" to any ship which couldn't afford the massive jump in insurance premiums. In this manner Iran effectively choked off traffic without having to fire a single shot at them. It both intimidated crews, and escalated insurance premiums, which effectively shut down or severely limited commercial shipping.

It's an annual list. Not a pre-war or post war list.
the person I'm responding to made a bold statement (Ukraine has a much stronger military than Iran).
I'm pointing out he pulled that out of his arse........ which appears to be the same source you get your material from.
You're a real cock sucker, huh?

highly intelligent response thanks for demonstrating your intellectual capacity here.
If bothers you we went through #16 on the list like butter doesn't it?

quote:Not there best stuff, that is wrong... They have minimal advanced equipment. The USA loves it's tigers.
Iran has Russian and Chinese technology, or had it until the US Air Force obliterated it.
On the other hand Ukraine has got some of best tech. Not most advance, but damn good.

No, just like so many of our adventures. The goal is not always victory. We stay in Afganistan for 10 years to replace the Taliban with!!!!!!!!!!! The Taliban.... Our military is grossly overrated. We can bomb the crap out of anyone, but when it is boots on the ground. We do not have the wherewithal to withstand high casualties. So countries know what they have to do. Just make it painful for us.
We need to stop these adventures and work on our homefront

Not at all. But that story is still being written.
What bothers me is that you seem to be a moron incapable of understanding humor, and you believe yourself to be the smartest person in the room.
Admittedly, I have no idea if you are a cock sucker, but it wouldn't surprise me. It is 2026, though, so you don't have much to worry about.

Marco Rubio specifically said that if you hear information outside of Trump himself, JD Vance or Marco about any of these events then it's not news, it's fake made up bullshite. In other words, there are no "officials" or "sources"
The playbook is pretty clear an "administration source" provides information. The administration then rails on the media and waits to see how the information lands. They then release "official information" based on the reception of the leaked info.

I understand humor fine. which is why I only responded to your "humor" with my first sentence.
the difficulty with a poster like you using humor like that is it is difficult to determine if you are trying to be humorous or if you are really that stupid (you make this a tough call with the rest of your posts).
Pointing out where another posters is flailing around pulling "facts" out of their arse does not make me the smartest person in the room. Nor am I trying to be. It's just that people like you and the person I responded to post things that are so dumb it's really hard not to look smart around you. Sorry for that.

Well, now you've gone and proven you're a cock sucker.
I hope you enjoy it. Be safe out there!

That has been the playbook from the jump.

thanks for proving my point about how easy it is to look smart in comparison to your posts.

ANd? I think we are by far the most powerful military in the world. But we lack the fortitude to finish fights...That is fact, WW2 was the last war we went all in on. Vietnam was still half measures.

If by we you mean the American people as a whole, I'd agree. People don't like to accept this, but we spend an incredible amount of time complaining about our government when the truth is, it's exactly the one we deserve. Our population is a bunch of lazy, entitled, low information morons. Any politician who honestly wanted to fix the brokenness in this country would be promptly voted out and replaced with another "free shite" guy. We have far too many retards in this country.

Laugh all you like. Let’s see what Trump is willing to call a “victory”

got it. It's by far the most powerful. But it's overrated.......
because "we" lack the fortitude to finish fights.
Except "we" aren't finished with the fight "we" are in so you have no idea if that is currently true or not.
But OMB so however "we" finish this fight you've already concluded "we've" lost and are overrated.
how both sides of you.. when you figure out what side of "we" you're on let me know

No.
Our political class and the public have little patience for high casualties unless there is an undeniable reason to go to war. That's a totally separate issue from how good our military is.

It is not contradictory.. One can be overrated but yet the most powerful. We have a tendency to pick fights with countries that are to weak to challenge us head on. Instead it turns in to a war of attrition and that is our weakness. We do not tolerate loss of life (I do not either). Russia and China are different. If it became a war between the two one side could absorb more loss at a greater ratio. DO you think the USA people would tolerate losing 150-500 thousand people in a border war like Ukraine? Hell no... Our weakness is obvious and our enemies know it.
