Oh it’s far beyond idiotic. They’re either brain damaged (possibly even brain dead), or they’re so very eaten up with TDS and pure unadulterated anger towards Trump that they’ve lost any semblance of self-respect and simply have no issue whatsoever with adopting the most pathetic, nonsensical, obvious clues like a strobe light screaming “fake news”…….yet they’re willing to go with it. That right there is a sorry state of existence.

A little background.
The last time schumer was involved in the expansion of a project to extend a subway (I know this is subway and tunnel), it cost more per mile than any subway project in the world. More even that Paris with its litany of unions, socialism, work rules, digging under and around ancient buried ruins.
This project is a boondoggle, they could simply repair the existing tunnel. With the decrease in population there is no need for it.
The project is funded 75% by the federal government at 12 billion. Tells me the entire project probably will cost closer to 4 billion and they will take the 12 billion from the feds for kickbacks.
Thats the rest of the story......and I didnt need "two sources" telling me

OP, do you seriously believe this story?
What's not to believe?
SInce he became President one year ago (imagine what more he will do in the last three years) we have seen -
The Trump Gold Card offering a high-priced path to citizenship.
TrumpRx website prescription drugs. Can't just call it USARx now can you?
A new battleship called "Trump Class" ships - their official label from the Department of War.
Trump Accounts. Yes that is their official name, see the .gov website
LINK
The US Institute of Peace now called the Trump Institute of Peace.
The Kennedy Center has become the Trump-Kennedy Center.
Trump WH has said naming the new Washington NFL stadium after him
would be "beautiful"
God Bless The USA Bibles, widely called "The Trump Bibles"
LINK
Oh and they were printed in China. Wonder what tariff he paid?

So no....I certainly can believe Trump wants this airport and train station named for him. (Already there is a bill to rename Palm Beach airport after him - it passed the House!)

They cannot just renovate the current tunnel, its almost 120 years old, build for far smaller trains.
A new Hudson Tunnel (part of the Gateway Program) is urgently needed to prevent a catastrophic failure of the 110+ year-old existing tubes, which are nearing the end of their service life and cannot be repaired without shutting down service. It will double capacity, allowing for four tracks instead of two,, increasing reliability for 200,000 daily passengers and preventing a potential $16 billion economic hit.
Key Reasons for the New Tunnel:
Preventing System Failure: The current 116-year-old North River Tunnel is severely damaged, particularly from Superstorm Sandy, and requires extensive rehabilitation.
Essential Redundancy: Without a new, parallel tunnel, repairing the existing, aging, one would require reducing service by up to 75% for at least a decade.
Increased Capacity & Reliability: The project will provide four modern tracks (two new, two rehabilitated) for the Northeast Corridor.
Economic Impact: The project is expected to create 95,000 jobs and generate $19.6 billion in economic activity.
Commuter Relief: It will reduce daily congestion for thousands of commuters traveling between New Jersey and New York.
Construction of the new tunnel is expected to be completed around 2035, with rehabilitation of the old tunnel completed by 2038.
