I get it, but stay with me here for a sec.
The ONLY way to ensure Trump is gone is to let him term out. Let the election play out and he wins. Pulling out all the stops for 2024 is a bad move for the brand. They've made too much noise around democracy and DEI and election denial to shelve Joe and pass over Kamala. As far as cheating goes, Republicans are harvesting in this election, so that trick has only so much effectiveness. If they dump Joe, many of the swing states are off the table anyway.
The dems should have developed a bench after Hillary and moved on in 2024, but they couldnt help themselves. Now, they are on the brink of total purgatory in the political world. They need to find new blood and work to succeed in a post-Clinton/Biden/Trump world. They can chalk Joe up as a bad apple, blame the loss on his age, and forge ahead.
Its their only real play. All other options short of **lling Trump have been exhausted.

Well, let’s look at it this way: But for a Chinese made global pandemic falling into their lap in 2020, what would their record look like aside from that? My guess is an unheard of “epic fail” streak dating back to November of 2016, less and except a couple of lucky hits here and there that even in those cases they didn’t exactly capitalize on. That would be an eight year period of abysmal and notoriously ugly failure leading up to the point at which we stand today.
Under that backdrop I just can’t make myself give them much if any credit.

I've heard this idea discussed. If this is true, "they" would open themselves to whatever investigations are opened into "their" multitude of illegal and corrupt actions.

He’s to ambitious to not give it a run, but the Dems best ‘28 ticket right now is Shapiro (PA)/Moore (MD). Which right now looks solid and tough.

Honestly that's some nice spin if they do lose. But I don't think you understand their resolve. Ultimately it would be great for everyone. Good for Trump because he gets to be POTUS again, great for the Dems because Trump is off the table from now on, great for the GOPe because they can get back to the lobbyist control they're used to, and great for the country because the economy is straight and we have world peace.
But the democrats will do ANYTHING to keep from losing. And I mean anything. They're not like the GOP, who is clearly more than happy with a good showing and a loss. The Dems will burn it all down if they have to.

Hate to agree, but I agree. I've been saying this all along. They wont stop until he's in jail, it's their only chance now. They have LEO, courts, FBI, judges, DA's, media, everyone at their disposal to play it how they want it played.
