yes, but he didn't like the plan being offered, and frankly it was an opportunity to stick a knife in donald's ribcage after all the bullshite donald said about him.

Frankly, whether or not you care to admit it, had you been him you would have done the exact same thing.

However, his political career lately hasn't been very brave at all. He's not done what he said he would do just to prove a point to Trump seemingly.

We differ on opinion here...no sense in bashing our heads against the wall.

Hilarious considering donald is the one threatening war with North Korea (instead of ignoring their arse) and sending even more troops to Afganistan when that mission (get Bin Laden) is long since completed.

Tell me again whose the warmonger?

There are actually republican Never Trumpers who fricking hated McCain in the past before are now using him to fight Trump supporters and nationalists and the President himself.

They talk a good game about Trump supporters betraying their principles but they haven't looked in a mirror lately.

Meanwhile...day 267 of the Trump presidency and for the 72nd day he is spending it on the golf course.

I remember oh so fondly when he said if he was elected president he wouldn't have time for vacations.

Have you. Since you went all Trumpkin you have certainly found yourself supporting a lower and lower bar where Trump is concerned.

And you well know it.

It's McCain.

Great, McCain is leading by revenge.

And no, I wouldn't ignore my constituents out of some need to poke someone in the eye.

If I did, I would expect to be voted out.

You do understand that McCain didn't vote no on a healthcare bill but rather he voted no on having a discussion about the healthcare bill right?

Nope.

Uh, calling them out the source of the problem is actually part of the solution and McCain is every bit of the problem with Washington and american foreign policy and has been long before Trump even started thinking about running for President.

McCain's removal from politics is a solution and that will be taking care of itself soon but he's still the poster boy for term limits.

It is when you're on the same side of someone who's literally a RINO that has stabbed his voters in the back on key campaign promises and did it with zero shame whatsoever.

I don't follow why this board has such disdain over McCain. Is it just due to voting no on the healthcare bill?

To fear the world we have organized and led for three-quarters of a century, to abandon the ideals we have advanced around the globe, to refuse the obligations of international leadership and our duty to remain 'the last best hope of earth' for the sake of some half-baked, spurious nationalism cooked up by people who would rather find scapegoats than solve problems is as unpatriotic as an attachment to any other tired dogma of the past that Americans consigned to the ash heap of history.

I disagree. First, the words are meaningless drivel because they are conclusory and accusatory; Second, McCain offers no analysis or support for his conclusions whatsover. He merely slings the shite and hopes it sticks to the wall. Third, I very sincerely doubt that John McCain wrote that prose.

So, the quote is shallow, vindictive and without a shred of supporting analysis. In short, it's garbage.

You should be thrilled.

It's what Donald has spent the last 10 months doing...settling old scores...rather then you know...doing the best things for the American people....or actually trying to get congress on his side so his agenda can move forward instead of insulting them at every turn.

McCain learned from the best.

on his side? i'm merely agreeing that his statement, as i quoted it, was both savage and true. and it captures well a big part of what's wrong with the guy's bullshite populist message

You are good with McCain leading by revenge but not Trump.

Please don't talk down to people about principles going forward. We'll just have to rehash this thread and your position.

If are OK with revenge being part of politics then say so. Don't just say it's cool for one side but not the other.

Think about this.

You actually support a politician leading and governing by revenge and willingly reneging on campaign promises just to settle petty scores.

That is bullshite and and why he has no business in Washington.

And you call Trump a child? GTFO.

Hilarious considering donald is the one threatening war with North Korea (instead of ignoring their arse)

Bush, Clinton and Obama did and it didn't work and now they're closer than ever to having a nuke themselves.

You don't know shite.

I disagree with the president here but he only sent a marginal increase that's so small it's really nothing more than keeping the status quo and that's better than a new full blown surge.

quote:

Tell me again whose the warmonger?

McCain.

He wants war with Iran, Russia, Syria, and some african countries as well.

That's who you're shilling for dude.

And he can't have it both ways.

He can be the adult in the room and stay faithful to his voters and deliver on campaign promises.

Or he can be the petty child and renege on those promises to his voters to settle petty scores with the President.

He chose the latter and he will die one of the most despised and least conservative republicans ever and a disgrace to Barry Goldwater.
