So Trump, like Kamala Harris and Joe Biden now supports price controls. Interesting.

Big Auto made their bed and should have paid the price.

Your govt has been subsidizing them with tariffs and direct payments for decades.

If you think big auto is partially at fault here, why the frick are we saving them with tariffs?

Probably something akin to what he’s doing to law firms.

You mean our govt, right?

I didn't see eye to eye with subsidizing Big Auto either. It made the process rife and ripe for riff-raff and kick-backs.

Isn't Trump the guy you need to speak to?

Trump has no clue how to run a modern economy. He's reactive to his loyalists.

The loyalists are whom need to be told, through social media they influence his positions.

This is one of the reasons why populism sucks. Do we really want top-down pricing just to prop up a policy decision?

Just to be clear, you want US automakers to raise price 25% ?

Are you a fricking retard?

Consider for a second: Trump would have an empty threat if he doesn’t have any screws to turn to “punish” automakers, but he has zero shot of passing new laws, or regulations that wouldn’t get immediately challenged and lingering forever from leftist judges…

Consider also that Big Auto also needed a massive bailout in 07/08.

They raise prices, he cuts a safety net they may need soon.

Tariffs have the benefit of potentially opening up previously closed/restricted markets for US industries. Hopefully the US automakers see this strategy in working to gain more access with the EU market.

Big auto got their asses saved by the American people they can return the favor for once. The President has every right to call them on this.

Truth is there is a lot of sky screaming by our Never Trumpers who look for anything they can to complain about Trump.

They ignore all history because it goes against what they were taught to think. Some claim to have had econ 101. Adam Smith is one of the people used in econ 101. Except for the parts that globalists intentionally remove from his book!

Anyway, look at the success of Reagan. LINK

The auto industry was bailed out and allowed not to fail. Your saying the President shouldnt remind them that if they don’t play ball don’t come to me looking for a bailout?

Which are, specifically. Tell me.

Because youre literally making that up on the spot.

So tell me the entire dynamic.

But he sure knows how to flatter, influence and finesse loyalists and the Lindsey Grahams alike.

I'd like to see economic and logistical analyses done, aired publicly (for transparency sake) before coming down with the hammer on earthquake-changing policies like tariffs, annexing land, and building $500b "AI Data Centers."

The loyalists are going to support any and all of Trump's policies. Without critical examination or scrutiny. Because that's what "loyalists" of any party do.

That's the impression they want to give, isn't it?

That social media "influencers" and "loyalists" actually believe they co-influence policies and agenda on a whim with the admin seems to me to be trickery and sleight of hand. We saw this on display the day of the magic "Binders."

The tariffs should have spurred economic growth here in the USA, correct?

Why didnt that happen? It has nothing to do with the IRA.
