Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday vowed to never allow the use of a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), as it would “give the government absolute control over your money.”
“This would be a dangerous threat to freedom – and I will stop it from coming to America. We are also going to put in place strong protections to stop banks and regulators from trying to de-bank you for your political beliefs. That will never happen while I am your president,” Trump told a crowd in Portsmouth, New Hampshire – as first reported by The National Pulse.

Once a central bank issues a new currency, I think it's often "RIP in peace" for the currency they had issued first. Tanking the dollar would bankrupt a lot of banks, but it would also let the Yankee Empire "off the hook" for muh federal debt. Suuuure, you can have a couple trillion dollars- enjoy the "fast casual" meal.
The winners in such a scenario are the Yankee government and its fellow travelers first, and (dollar-denominated) debtors of every stripe: homeowners, weird piercing student loan chicks, credit-card-addicted The Woodlands harlots... i.e. basically everybody.
