What is the alternative? The GOP never had a plan it was always a talking point.
This is where they collectively failed as a party. 2018 midterms was decided almost on a single issue, healthcare.
If they don’t come up with a viable option we will be getting Medicare for All and I hope everyone is prepared.

Now that the very expensive, unpopular and unfair Individual Mandate provision has been terminated by us, many States & the U.S. are asking the Supreme Court that Obamacare itself be terminated so that it can be replaced with a FAR BETTER AND MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE ALTERNATIVE.....

...Obamacare is a joke! Deductible is far too high and the overall cost is ridiculous. My Administration has gone out of its way to manage OC much better than previous, but it is still no good. I will ALWAYS PROTECT PEOPLE WITH PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS,ALWAYS!!!

I thought Obamacare had been slowly piecemealed away to not even exist anymore...

Where is the plan? If a better and cheaper alternative is presented to the American people, it would be a great campaign move.

Yes. Republicans get raked over this issue because there is no plan.

All these threads the past few days about “What’s Trump/Biden going to run on?” This topic was danced around a lot.
I would think people are even less inclined to fully embrace employer based healthcare when unemployment is over 10%

It would 100% be a winning issue for trump and gop if they had a plan.
Biden is running on expanding Obamacare and Medicare for All is the goal.

“The party” didn’t really want to do anything with it.

Which is hilarious because McCain and Romney and the whole gop won the house and senate back on Repeal and Replace.
Long before trump.
And they never had a fricking plan hahaha
It’s the epitome of why they lose and conservatives are just fed up with them.

Too soon to release a GOP plan. Strategically, the Dems and media would spend months making false claims, and low info voters won’t look into it for themselves.
Might be best to drop the plan in a debate, and show Biden fumbling for why it’s bad, and why we should pay more for ObamaCare.

How do you know he doesn't have a plan?

This is the one area I think Rand could be helpful.

I don't want republicans to have a plan beecher I don't want gover run healthcare. Their plan needs to be to stay out of that business.

Republican establishment is far too entrenched with health insurers and big pharmaceuticals.
The ideal situation would be to
1. stop forcing insurers to cover people with pre-existing conditions (massively lowering private sector deductibles and premiums)
2. lower the income thresholds for Medicaid (transferring more consumers into the private sector, further lowering deductibles and premiums)
3. move anyone that has been denied coverage for pre-existing conditions onto Medicaid and/or Tri-Care
4. force insurers to offer plans to all buyers nationwide
5. patent reform + price controls on a large swath of the most frequently prescribed drugs to match the prices paid by other countries
6. on-shoring production of prescription drugs as a public safety concern
But we are too far down the path. By the end of 2021, there's going to be a "Medicare Buy In" and then it's just a matter of time before the industry is essentially nationalized. Taxes will shoot up, premiums won't go down, some people are going to get absurdly rich.

The plan should be to remove it and all government sponsored healthcare that is not for government employees.

The plan was the Graham-Cassidy plan. That was going to be the GOP alternative to the ACA.
It block granted the Obamacare taxes back to the states. The states would then use that money and would then be left to design/implement their own healthcare delivery system. In other words, the Republican plan was federalism. If a state wanted to keep Obamacare, they could keep Obamacare. If a state wanted a free market approach, they could institute a free market approach. If a state wanted to try universal care they could try universal care.
If the Graham Cassidy would have been voted in we would now have "50 different on going experiments" on how to best deliver healthcare. We would have been able to determine what works and what doesn't. What delivers the best care per dollar etc.
Nothing is perfect, but that is a plan that would have worked.
You asked what the GOP alternative was...that was it.
