RJ, In recent months, it often seems like I’m one of maybe three remaining people on the board who would support GOB or Gov D without hesitation, whoever the nominee was.
Gov D was largely celebrated on this board as recently as 6 months ago. The guy has gotten some outstanding results in FL and turned a purplish state solidly red. I like results even more than talk and Gov D has had results. Gov D had some mid-steps early with Covid but he got the ship righted a hell of a lot quicker than many.
I liked a lot of what Trump was able to do as President. I think Trump is a poor judge of character and surrounds himself with people who work against him.
I don’t think either guy is “perfect”. I’m not sure I’ve ever remembered a perfect president in my lifetime.
I think either would be a vast, vast improvement over what’s going on from the White House now.
I just hope the GOP voters don’t blow the whole damn thing up internally and hand Brandon and the Socialists 4 more years on a silver platter.

My question is how is DeSantis GOPe? He was one of the few Governors who stood up to Fauci and made sure Florida was business as usual in April, only a week or so after Kemp.
Your time line and facts are false. Peeriod. And the more you attempt to do so, the more people see the facts because they are posted.
DeSantis did not reopen in April. He reopened after a visit to the WH... that was may, and it was a limited reopening.
DeSantis at the end of June threatened businesses with their Business licenses if they broke the covid restrictions in place. They did so at the state LEVEL and actually followed through. That went into effect July 1, 2020.
People were still being arrested for breaking covid rules in march of 2021.
That did not stop until in MAY of 2021 he ended the EO and the final phase of the lockdowns.

Yet another reminder that Jjobama tried to reference an EO that expired in April as evidence that arrests were happening as a direct result in August.
He's full of shite, for anyone who reads his posts and doesn't already know this.

Thank you for allowing more on the topic.
Yes... The news 100% built an AI that would make a VIDEO of him announcing it!

Remember when you fell on your face trying to use 20-89?
I remember.
Remember when you lied about beaches being open?
I remember.
Remember when you lied about Trump winning Miami-Dade?
I remember.
You're a proven liar and nothing you post will ever be worth anything to me, Jj al-Sahhaf.

The 5.5 million people who voted for at least 1 down-ballot Republican in 2016 and 2020 but not Trump are NEVER voting for Trump. You need to accept that. They hate him and are never voting for him. Thus, it would be stupid to re-nominate someone who will never get those voters that are needed to win an election.

Daddy is right. Little Ron needs to enjoy his pudding in Florida for another four years until he can present Florida as the perfect case for his presidency. It’s improving but not there yet. tDon will handle the heavy lifting draining the swamp and pave the way for tRon to implement similar practices like he’s done in Florida at a national level

Trumps been told that Ron is backing away from running

I believe the vast majority are in fact.
But I also believe they have zero trust for any GOP’er who is perceived to be outside of Trump’s movement and/or does not explicitly have GOB’s blessing.
So they're America First, but Trump is the only person on the planet qualified to tell them what's good for America. They can't make those decisions for themselves.

Biden did not get 81 million votes sir.
You need to accept that a lot of shite happened during 2020.

We were here long before Trump.

If Trump loses again and wants to run in 2028 what will you do? Tell DeSantis to wait until 2032 as it's still Trump's turn or tell Trump to frick himself and stay on the sideline?

Kinda sad that Donald knows he has his "MAGA" fanbase at his pleasure.

Wonderful, so I assume you've looked over the data from every county from 2016 and 2020, right?
If you did, you'd see that Trump consistently underperformed other Republicans in suburban counties. Over 5.5 million people split their tickets in 2016 and 2020.

Yes, Trump got his arse kicked and is no longer in the White House. You can complain about "muh fraud" all you want, but that's no excuse for why 5.5 million people voted for Republicans down the ballot that they literally couldn't ID out of a lineup but not Trump. It's no ones fault but Trump's that Independents, suburbanites, and women hate him.
Scoreboard.

Flats, I’m just giving my observation having been a GOP voter and following politics in general for the past few decades.
Right or wrong, let me turn the question around on you a little bit and ask you to share with me what other major Republican figure in the past approx 3 decades ever tried to actually deliver on some of the things he/she promised to GOP voters while campaigning?
Trump at least tried to follow through on some of the things he spoke to while campaigning. Getting tough with China, making fair trade “more fair”, expecting Allies to “pay their fair share” for the common defense, keeping America from getting involved in new military ventures in far-flung parts of the world, trying to actually clamp down on immigration, etc., etc.
Americans have had a lot of GOP candidates say all the right things and do nothing with it if given the opportunity. Trump actually tried to follow through on some things.
I would offer those people did in fact make a decision for themselves.
