Treason only applies to giving aid to a foreign enemy. Sedition involves domestic ends and a bona fide conspiracy. So this would come closer to the sedition end. However, this does not meet the legal requirements for sedition. Plus since it was a public announcement, Kelly et al are protected by the First Amendment.

I'm sure it is but you claimed that whether he said it publicly or not impacted that protection. If it rises to the level of sedition I doubt it matters whether you said it in a secret meeting or on a stage at a rally.
