I think most folks with sense are not ok with the Chinese spying and theft of intellectual property.

Most of my close friends' dads are Vietnam vets also. I am close with a B-52 bombardier, a Marine tunnel rat, a Marine radio operator (who was in Cambodia, where technically, the USA was "not there"), and one of the original FORECON guys.
Everyone talks about the American WWII soldiers being the "greatest generation"... and they probably were. Both of my grandfathers were WWII vets... but you Vietnam guys were bad arse as well. A war that we really had no business being involved in, but you answered the call, served your country, protected the south Vietnamese, fought in some of the most inhospitable battle zones in the history of warfare, and then got shite all over by the flower children and hippies when you came home.
I personally have a great admiration for your generation of vets.

I've been deep diving into a lot of Vietnam stuff lately after I watched Platoon again recently and heard Oliver Stone's podcast with Rogan.
Look, Stone is a nut job and his politics are so bizarre, it's almost like it's he's a caricature, but the dude volunteered for combat duty while in Yale and He was from a rich new York family. He would have never had to go.
All of my uncles did Tours either in the Navy or the Army. They were from poor families in the rural, rural south, but all volunteered to get a better landing spot in the service. One of my family members who was a skilled tradesman there said he actually loved The Nam. Others were in the Gulf of Tonkin on flight lines and can't hear a dam lick anymore.
I commend and thank anyone who fought and served there.
I had a teacher who was at the second LZ in '65 in the IA Drang Valley with Hal Moore. He was a Ranger Lt. I believe. He never used a gun again after the war.
Some dumbass in class once asked him if he ever killed people. I almost slapped him. He should have been kicked out of the class. The teacher just sat there and didn't acknowledge him.

Chinese investment group now agreeing to sell 100% of TikTok US in order to appease Trump. I hope he says F them anyway and bans it. But I think this is the response he was looking for

I don't trust our own social media apps so I am certainly not going to trust one made in China.
