Warning: Potentially triggering but pragmatic opinion to follow……
Even a RINO is better than a Democrat, in all but perhaps a few rare exceptions.

Yes indeed. I'll be glad to do it.

IIRC on this board I've only seen a couple of people say they would not vote for Trump if he wins the nomination. The Trump supporters have said they would vote for DeSantis if he wins the nomination.
Yep, you're fricking wrong, dude.
My quote reflects exactly what the data in this thread shows.
You are wrong.

Maybe in the short term, but long term voting rino is a disaster.

I believe if nothing else at least a RINO would take one less spot towards the Democrats building towards that all important majority in either chamber. Or viewed the other way, at least a warm body that would build towards a Republican majority. I just think having a majority is the top goal, even if composed of a few non preferable pieces. It’s still better than than the other way around.

No, it doesn't.
It reflects that a few dozen Trump supporters currently say they'll vote for DeSantis.
Either way, that wasn't the point that you responded to and that's why you're wrong.
I also think it's funny that you're pretending that 20% is an insignificant portion.

It’s definitely not the most ideal scenario, but again still better than the opposition having the majority power. I say achieve the majority the “best” way possible, then once that’s in place do what you must and what you can to get the house in order.

Right now the exact numbers are this:
48 Yes 80%
7 No 11.7%
5 Maybe 8.3%

80 versus 20 politics is beyond a landslide. I would say that my initial sentiment that most Trump supporters would support DeSantis in the general if he wins the nomination is more than correct.
So in conclusion, I win. You lose.

That is the exact game we have been playing for a good while now, it isn't working out very well for us.
The time for half measures is over, its all or nothing from here on out.

Look, again, I completely agree that isn’t the ideal situation, but if you’re given only the two options of a Republican majority with a few unsavory pieces -or- a Democrat majority, I think the choice in the short term of only those two options is clear. THEN you build a more favorable composition from there. Of course if there were a feasible alternative other than the RINO in every instance, there’s no question what the ideal move is to make. But there isn’t a feasible non-RINO alternative option in every single case.
In case I’m not clear on this point, I would no doubt prefer not a single RINO in the all important majority, but if there’s no way around it at least in the short run, majority is still the top priority.
