Well, from Ukraine's perspective, it would be like us having a national election with California, Oregon, and Washington occupied, fighting, and unable to vote. Even if you did it, the legitimacy would be challenged.

I don't think Trump made that statement to "[RIP] Zelensky," because Zelensky said that was in accordance to their Constitution. Rather, I believe it was said by Trump TO trigger the left.

Americans can get all preachy about it, but for the most part we've never had to field elections with an invader on our soil. By November of 1864 we were on a hell raising tour of the South.

Were you stoned every day of American History class in high school? Were we, or were we not, involved in a major world war in both Europe and Asia in 1944, and did we or did we not have a Presidential election anyway?

We had House and Senate elections in 1942, just 5 months after the Battle of Midway, when the entire Pacific Coast was still vulnerable to attack.

When Trump swore in he agreed to inherit Biden’s shortcomings. Thats how shite works. Anyone who hasn’t inherited someone else’s problems and had to fix them is blessed. The higher profile the position, the likely higher the shitstorm you’re inheriting.

Because maybe their citizens want to end the war and there's a candidate that promises to end it. If 90% want a war to end, but the President wants to keep fighting, it seems that you're arguing that he should be able to cancel the election.
