I chose to leave a corner office in a glass tower to hang a shingle in a small town and listen to the coyotes sing at night. Sure, the cases are a bit less sophisticated, but I chose a different life, and I am quite content with my decision. If you cannot understand that, it is more a commentary on you than on me.

But you are mistaken. $2300 is not the max child support. It is the max PRESUMED child support under the guidelines, for two kids. The presumed max is higher with more kids, and the Court has the discretion to go above the presumed/guideline max under a variety of statutorily-outlined scenarios.
If your income were high-enough, your lawyer would have explained this to you, because your ex-wife doubtless would have sought a higher figure.

Yes, I cut my hourly rates when I left the big city, but it has been several decades since they were as low as $200.
Look, if you want to dig in the weeds of an interesting legal question, I am happy to do that with you. I find it entertaining, and you may be bright enough to make it interesting. We have several lawyers here that do so with some regularity, and we have worthwhile discussions when we are able to avoid the hoi polloi, even when we do not share the same ideology. Please do join one of those discussins.
I look forward to that opportunity, but I am not going to argue about law school rankings, class standing, or partnership shares & distributions on this forum. I have a few reported cases, and I have handled some pretty big litigation, but am not about to dox myself to prove something to a stranger on the internet.
