Read the transcript and the quote in question. Neither part of the answer made Harris look even halfway good or competent. CBS is entitled to editorial discretion and in this case even if they were looking to make her look good they didn't.

Did you even read the transcript? What was said on 60 minutes vs what was said on FTN made her look equally vacuous if not downright stupid. CBS should have charged her for wasting their time. Trump's focus is entirely on two statements in response to the same question. Both statements were right on top of each other. It's a loser for Trump. Redstone wants to make it go away so she can pocket upwards of 500 million....some estimates suggest more. 15 million to get more than half a billion? For her its a small cost .

Trump would have to prove material harm in court, and he cannot. He was elected President. He won Texas where the suit was filed. There was no demonstrated evidence of intent by CBS to do any harm financially or reputationally. He cannot claim libel since his name was not mentioned in the context of the quotes in question.

Never take the first offer....however, in this case it could be the best offer.

Discovery would in essence destroy the value of CBS in terms of the merger they are trying to do.

If Trump was just doing this as a business decision he would hold out for well north of 100m as a minimum because he has them over a barrel. If he is instead doing this to show to the public how biased the modern media has become and is planning on using CBS as an object lesson for the rest of the media conglomerate, then you drag it out through discovery and present how biased they really are in court.

Unlike the CNN liable suit, Trump has no real financial incentive for settling, so really it is what CBS has to admit to publicly when they do settle instead of the settlement amount that is important.

I don't think a derivative law suit would work in this case even if Redstone and Trump come to an agreement. Redstone is entitled to operate in what she thinks is best in terms of settling law suits. Of course this is a shakedown by Trump, of course Redstone would pay 15 million to get an 8 billion dollar deal through where she personally stands to make close to 500+ million. If this case was was not filed in court, then yes, she could get raked by shareholders.

And again...

Six pages in this thread, with over half of it "debating" a literal TDS riddled retard.

The more you prove it wrong, the more it would double and triple down on the stupid talking points.

Ignore these morons so they will quit cluttering the board with abject stupidity and lies.

Stay the course. He has to make this hurt so others will think twice next time.

Trump wants 25 million and a public apology. The News division is not about to allow that without a real fight. Trump has to demonstrate harm either to himself or business interests directly. I'm not seeing the harm. Harris said what she said, nothing was changed. Both responses were in response to the same question. No libel was committed.

So essentially she'll pay the shakedown to get her billions and through 60 Minutes and CBS News under the bus in order to get it.

President is eliciting a bribe via a lawsuit. So no she's not. It's legal . It's still a shakedown but it's protected because Trumps people went judhe shopping in Amarillo.
