Exactly. HE cannot over-rule the mayor of D.C. or of other cities' mayors, or the governors without declaring martial law.
He can order more to be done around the White House.
I don't understand why they are allowing so much there. If they aren't going to shot the thugs they can club them with BIG sticks, arrest them, and file federal charges.

Why are you completely excusing the terrible leadership of mayors all over america?

Why are you so convinced a primetime speech (at the same time riots are taking place) would change anything?

Nope. Liar.
Yep, it's a blatant misquote to make trump look like he was advocating shooting looters.

He said "when looting starts, shooting starts". aka looting can lead to dangerous situations.

What the f*ck makes you think people willing to burn and loot their own cities will listen to a Trump speech and say "oh, Ok. He's right. We'll return to our fine upstanding lifestyles."

Here's a clue. Trump doesn't have a magic wand. Adn the only people responsibel for these looters and rioters violence are the... looters and rioters.

He needs to show leadership to the rest of us, not the looters. The looters don’t give a shite what he said, but everybody else watching their country burn to the ground sure as frick does,

Or he can keep doing what he’s doing which is nothing, I don’t care. This is an election year and he looks weak as frick right now though,

You:

Also you;

So he gives a national speech with boilerplate language. the looting and rioting continues like nothing happeend.

what would the speech accomplish? You think people would be reassured seeing riots take place during a primetime address?

Oh ok because you’re last post you said he was a CEO so I went with it but now he’s not

CEOs are meant to set a company direction and not micromanage which was my point.

You want the President to act like a dictator to then criticize him like a dictator. You are criticizing him for being absent when he clearly has not been. How can you criticize when uninformed of what has happened? The NASA thing was kind of hidden by the liberal media, but any patriotic American would have been following our efforts to send people back into space.

What did his tweet mean

It meant he didn't want to see people shot.

Personally I think it should have meant "looters will be shot on sight!" That's not what he said but has been the standard in times of emergency for all time. So stop trolling or go find a bridge to live under.

Well, according to your own observations, it certainly didn't mean "Hey black people, I'm going to start ordering federal troops to shoot you!"

What are your thoughts on what it meant?

You’re being very dishonest if you think that when the President says “when the looting starts, the shooting starts,” it isn’t condoning it. He’s not just some slap dick, dude.

My tin foil side wonders if he’s over being president and is throwing the election. He’s been embarrassing in 2020.

Why the f(ck do you need to be led to anything? Are you incapable of thinking for yourself?

For socially responsible what trump says has almost ZERO affect on their ilves.

Or he can keep doing what he’s doing which is nothing,
You think it's "nothing" because you are either willfully ignorant (a good list has even been posted above) or your dishonest. I won't guess.

Condoning what?

The notion that people will protect their property? Yeah, I'm OK with that, believe it or not.

It was clearly stated that when looting starts it eventually leads to shooting incidents. The only people seemingly condoning violence are the incompetent democrat leadership in these cities.

Overriding state statutes on whether to have a duty to retreat or have the ability to stand your ground is in no way comparable to allowing your country to burn when you can stop it.

The leftists' alleged disdain for what Trump is doing/not doing further confirms he's doing the right thing.
