Just because they are part of the whole, that isn't a good enough reason to not extract the cancer from the body in order to preserve our way of life.
To allow the cancer to spread willy nilly and without any attempt to slow or stop, you will die.
The same goes for the spread of Islam into western countries. Allow it to continue to spread, and our way of life will end.
Amazing, isn't it?

I'll be honest, I like to vacation, and I like to vacation in Italy. No EU = no euro = cheaper trip to Italy.
Additionally, defense wise you could make an argument that NATO would be stronger if that was the only tie that binds between nations. It could go the other way as well, but at least GDP to defense spending ratios wouldn't be so uniformly affected by the weak Euro.
They have the Euro now and plenty of EU bureaucracy. They fail to contribute adequately to their own defense. Would breaking up the EU change things? Perhaps, but it couldn't really hurt.

The spirit of Charles Martel is stirring in the land of the Franks, but unfortunately I think that the center-right candidate will beat Le Pen based on my understanding of how French politics and elections work. At least they will no longer have an avowed pinko in office.
