Back to"? It was never officially "The War Department". That was just a common description. Just like "the Defense Department" instead of its official name.
Hmm...

I'm okay with the name change back to the original name.
"Department of Defense" is gaslighting.
We know what the Department of Defense is and it's not about defense. It's about war.
Don't punch me in the nuts and tell me you are defending me at the same time.

Yes, hmmm. Focus on what I'm saying though. I didn't say that it wasn't referred to as that. Just like it's very common to refer to the Department of Defense as the Defense Department or The Pentagon.

The DOD website disagrees with you. It was the War Department for 158 years until 1947.
No they don't, and no its wasn't.

U.S. Department of War was established on August 7, 1789, by an act of Congress under President George Washington.
It was reorganized and renamed the Department of Defense on August 10, 1949.

I'll post the preamble to the statute that he signed into law again.

Again, I'm not saying that it wasn't referred to as the War Department. Just as many people refer to the Department of Defense as the Defense Department or The Pentagon.

So that means Pete can become the Minister of War.
Right?
I like that title.
Right?
I like that title.

Prove it. That's usually your thing. I provided evidence that says otherwise.

Haha. That's the best you have? Figures.
The US Army says so, too.
If you can find something that says it was never an official name, I'd love to see it. You seem very confident about it.
