Trump just indicated support for national red flag law in televised remarks.

What a massive self inflicted blow to his re-election prospects. He needs to stop listening to Ivanka. Can't wait for nationwide squads of police to go door to door confiscated guns for everyone who has a pissed off neighbor or ex. Our last hope may be that there aren't 60 votes in the Senate to support this or that Dems try to attach too much other stuff to it so that it fails. He said that just now during an address. But Trump knows it wouldn’t pass because you can’t give Dims an inch without them wanting a mile. They’ll tack so much more to that bill and it won’t pass. Then he can claim that Dims are holding up the solution. I seriously doubt he loses any support because of this and in reality, reading his remarks made my support of him stronger.

I agree with you but he’s playing chicken with democrats here. It’s not going to happen and he knows it but he can puff up his chest and say “we tried to do something but the road blocking Dims held it up”.
Calm down. His own Supreme Court is the fail safe option here IF it actually happens. He knows that.

You have too much faith in John Roberts. Only after RBG is replaced could we have a good chance of overturning a red flag law at SCOTUS.

How are red flag laws any different than current law with protective orders? If someone gets a restraining order against someone, that can also contain a prohibition against possession of guns or ammo.

I do not know why y'all still get so bent out of shape when he does stuff like this. He mentioned he might support that, the entire left then spends a week saying that's not enough we have to go further. Then Trump says he doesn't support that they're all backed into a corner because they said we have to be more radical. They lost. he wins more support.
