“We set a date — I set a date of around Sept. 15, at which point it’s going to be out of business in the United States,” Trump told reporters. “But if somebody, and whether it’s Microsoft or somebody else, buys it, that will be interesting."

So trump is playing the intellectual property stealing game too! I hope he keeps it up.

He shouldn't allow anyone to buy it. That is counter productive. Why let left leaning sympathetic billionaires here further line the pockets of the communists.

Is it really that hard to suspend them and just wait for a new one to start.

My thoughts exactly.
If they go black today, in to weeks a clone that has no ties to China will be out there.

Instagram released reels so TikTok’s days are numbered. Everyone is switching over.

The number of companies this is tied to could be astronomical. Many online and mobile games are essentially owned by TENCENT.

TENCENT owns part of Reddit, Discord, CoD, Fortnite, League of Legends, and multiple other studios such as EPIC and Riot Games

Not to mention Roblox is partnered w/ Tencent. No idea what this means for these apps & game

Video game companies owned by Tencent will NOT be affected by this executive order!

White House official confirmed to the LA Times that the EO only blocks transactions related to WeChat

So Riot Games (League of Legends), Epic Games (Fortnite), et al are safe

For now.

If it becomes obvious that China is doing questionable shite with those games like they are doing with TikTok, those join the list.

Because Trump thinks he can get the US Treasury a finders fee on the transaction. He basically said we should get payment equal to x% of the purchase price
