I assume you are referring to the quote from Trump that he was not talked into this war. That it was more his view since events from1979, all the way through to the events of October 7th.
I think Trump saw the massacre of the Iranian protesters in January as the Iranian regime crossing a red line. I think that is when he decided to act.
I toured Israel last November and one thing that I heard many times from the Israelis I spoke with is that after October 7th the Israelis realized they face an existential threat and must fight this out to the end. They no longer believe there can be a two state solution.
I think Trump and Netanyahu are now of one mind, that the IRGC must be destroyed. I don't think Netanyahu talked Trump into anything. I think Trump came to the same conclusion after the massacres.
I hope we don't stop this war until the IRGC is completely destroyed. I think the IRGC keeps things stirred up in that region not only for their purposes, but also their allies the Chinese and the Russians.
