The AI are role playing what they are told to be and do. It's not real.

I disagree with you often. But I follow this topic closely and a number of experts and even execs admit that they don't fully understand what is going on under the hood. That isn't fear porn or nonsense. That is the opinion of almost all experts in the field. It's debatable if it's a threat. What is not debatable is it simply isn't understood.

I'm training an AI right now and it's not a LLM.
However, it was written by a LLM and a LLM is monitoring it's progress and adjusted it's training in response. I like to watch things evolve and learn over time. It's obviously a small project/hobby because I have limited hardware, Zuckerburg won't share his datacenters with me.
Both will do as they are trained and told to do.
That's where the actual danger comes from. It's like messing with a genie. Be careful what you wish for. You put in the wrong rewards, or you don't give it a correct goal, and it will carry it out. You tell it to make yourself the richest man in the world expecting to see large numbers in your bank account, maybe it comes to the solution of killing the rest of the world to achieve that goal.
Since it doesn't think, since it doesn't do anything other than pattern matching, it may not even remotely see a problem with killing people if it's not trained properly and/or given the correct prompt.
Those are actual safety type issues with AI. Not this "AI is going to become a super being and control everything" bullshite.
And btw, the best way to get past that genie stuff, other than having your own defenses? Making it better so it actually understands the context of the task correctly.

You might want to try self awareness. You're personally attacking bonds. When in reality you should be commending him for being willing to criticize someone he usually defends. Being honest is an admirable trait. Not one to mock as you are doing now.

- Axios posted a piece that China is peddling propaganda about data centers so that we lose the AI war and now that is accepted narrative. Do we believe intel mouthpiece Axios now?
- Daddy told me AI concerns are a hoax, so I guess he must be right!
Maybe the people actually working on these things every day are legitimately concerned and not everything is a psy-op or scam. Maybe things are more nuanced and you should think for yourself.

I respect your post. I really do.
For me, it's simple. We have created something that we don't understand how it works and if allowed in it's current path, will certainly be vastly more intelligent than we are. And that advancement is exponential. Folks just can't accept this.
All the while, these AI companies are racing to create the "best" AI, which they will then make trillions of dollars by selling it into markets. Once AI is entrenched into world markets, military, banking, shipping, internet services, etc.
Then it's too late. There's great information on all this available, but some folks can't focus past 5 minutes on a video.......

Humans learn faster and with much less energy consumption. It also rewrites itself at night.
But it's limited. AI learns much slower and requires much more energy, but the limitations on how much energy it can be given are gone.
I think more likely AI becomes an extension of humans. It already is. We are all connected to it now, but rather than it being in our brains connected directly, we type to it over the internet.
I'm not worried about AI, I'm worried what people will do with it. And the best defense is to expect it and create AI to identify and defend against it.
Or maybe people will be less ignorant and spirituality will finally evolve with the technology and we don't extinct ourselves.
