Libra is not crypto but digital currency representing a fiat mix of sovereign currencies that allows transactions over the internet through the Facebook network

I honestly can’t believe that bitcoin or any of the crypto currencies have made it this far. I love the concept and hope that it works. Why didn’t I invest early? Because it’s such an obvious threat to our current political structure that I felt there was no way our gov’t would let it be successful. My guess: the CIA/NSA already has cracked these currencies and is waiting for the right time to crash them. Destroy consumer confidence in any crypto and bring them back to the safety of the US dollar.

Well then, the U.S. Dollar is not money either.

Something about petrodollars and fiat currency

People assume the war on drugs is somehow to make us safer too. It is, and always was, about control.

That's not likely.

It’s actually highly likely the NSA already has quantum computing which would easily crack it.

Somebody remind me again. How many Divisions does Bitcoin have?
Zero. The bitcoin ledger is the bitcoin ledger. Any forks of the bitcoin ledger only benefit from as much consensus as the amount of power used to continue their new ledger.

The ignorance in this thread is astounding.
What’s even better is most of you idiots think a civil war is imminent while still worshipping the fiat currency you want to go to war with

You crypto fan boys are retarded. It is a currency made out of thin air. You make the argument that our currency is backed by nothing while cheering when Bitcoin stock goes up and are too stupid to see the irony.

1. It's not a currency
2. It's not "made out of thin air". It's the product of an extraordinary amount of computing power, all of which is intended to validate the accuracy of transactions on a distributed ledger. By some measures, It's the strongest consensus in the world.

You have no idea what you are talking about so you should probably leave the thread.

It’s definitely possible we start seeing attempts to ban it but I think it’s too late and too hard to contain. Libra is a different story. And truly they really won’t have a choice once the global banking system finally destroys the world economy anyway.
The only way independent crypto currencies existing long term is dependent on the current Overlords of the fiat monetary system going the way of the dodos........it ain't gonna happen. What's probably going to happen is the Fed/ Global Banking cabal will settle on a crypto currency standard and they will control that crypto currency......these people are not going to cede power people!

Nothing is permanent. Our current world banking system has only existed in a tiny sliver of human history. To think it will be enduring forever is naive. Greater powers than them have risen and fallen throughout history. Also, it isn’t like they are successfully crushing this whole financial thing either.

Given what a decentralized world reserve currency means, I can't believe our gov't will allow it to continue.

Bitcoin isn't a currency though, and it's certainly not a world reserve currency.

We'll see. One fact is undeniable, the current fiat monetary system is extremely powerful on a global scale and I don't see any way this monstrosity is brought to heel by a crypto currency revolution. The control of the money supply is the most important aspect of controlling the people.

BTC has crashed 80 to 90% several times and it always eventually comes back higher.
