I don’t understand your question? Ships had to be insured prior to the war. Now they pay more for insurance. Premiums are up around 40x what they were prior to the war.

Ships that took the Hormuz paid more for insurance to a Lloyd’s syndicate than ships that didn’t take the strait.
You ask how many were hit before the conflict.
My point is the the good businessmen that paid their Lloyds insurance of about $250k didn’t get hit. A mob payo ff if you will.
So it’s not free passage.
Those that pay, didn’t get hit.
Those that would be foolish not to pay the don’t hit fee…..got hit.

I personally never heard of an instance where it happened outside of the late 80’s when Iran tried to blockade Iraq and Kuwait. And I’m pretty sure we used our military to put that to a stop with a quickness. Maybe it did happen and it just never made the news but as of now I am unaware of any ships being struck.
So, to your previous post, if a ship chose to not pay the 150-200k in premiums to transit the strait they simply were uninsured. Now ships are paying in the millions in premiums to transit the strait.

Thats a lot of money.
And to your point, anywhere from 5 to 10. Million per ship is a lot of money too.
Do you ever envision ripping a bandaid off to create a strait that doesn’t need such a high risk fee?

Creating a strait? Like a whole new water way? Probably not. Hopefully over time pipelines will lessen the need for the strait but that’s a long way off. I’d like to rip the bandaid off by forcibly taking the strait with the military and winning the war.

Yah one thing all these black pillers seem to forget is how much culture stuff and early wins he locked up in the first few months of the administration… all the DEI stuff, all the things he’s done to bring universities to heel, then all the DOGE type wins like cutting gov programs and employees and now finding waste and fraud

Well I don’t know what source you heard that from but 45 million barrels a day would be more than twice the price war levels. So I’m gonna go ahead and call bullshite.
