Yea its stupid. Let's make people dread the entire winter because they have zero daylight when they get off of work.

It actively creates a clinical mental disorder. SAD - Seasonal affective disorder.

The only opposition i hear is "but the farmers". From my knowledge, farmers don't give a damn about what time it is. They work sun up to sun down. Regardless of the time. I'm not sure why you would care, if you are a farmer, because you're primary job is maintaining your farm. That isn't dependent on who is available to pick up the phone at 8 am.

F'k that ! It's going to be dark at 0800 in the morning in DEC-FEB. All of these DST fan boys are idiots. What are you going to do for 30 more minutes in the dead of winter ? DST is totally ridiculous, other than Memorial Day to Labor Day if that. Standard time all year. Get up earlier if you want to do something in the daylight.

I will add, though. Every leftist/liberal will oppose this for 2 reason.

1) First and foremost, TDS. They will oppose it because he's for it and for no other reason than that.
2) If they make it past TDS, it goes back to the Liberal mindset of "if i'm miserable, then everyone else around me needs to be miserable." Leftists only destroy and drag others around them down. Seeing anyone happy, or anyone wanting some more daylight to be more active in the evenings with their kids or exercise legitimately pisses them off. It's easier feel complacent with your shitty state of being when others have to suffer with you. If someone manages to turn lemons into lemonade, then they do their best to pull them back down to their hell.

Light comes up around 630 AM right now.

Going outside, playing with the kids.

How early do you wake your kids up to play outside in the morning?

Getting 3 kids 8 and under awake, dressed and dropped off at school before sunlight will be absolutely miserable

Thre are millions of people that work outside daily. If it dont get dayling until 8-30-9am in the morning it will affect them. There is a reason time changes.

I would personally like it to stay like it is now, but I do understand why time falls back in November.

You realize you are doing that now, right? Secondly, sunrise is around 630-645 right now. By december it's 7. You dropping off your kids at school before 7?

Secondly, the clock isn't changing if this goes through. So what are you going to be doing differently in November that you aren't doing now? Your post doesn't make any sense.

It's winter, enjoy the season as it should be. There is no need to have it dark at 8 AM so a few guys can play golf a few more minutes. As far as playing outside with the kids, well its winter, teach them to read and do constructive things as they have for hundreds of years before DST.

They'll want to sleep even longer since they'll have to wake up two hours before daylight on school days.

Yeah I work construction and our crews start 6:30-7. This will have them starting 8-8:30 and push them back getting home late and whatever effects that will have on their family logistics

Sun rise gets later and later basically through December. If this holds and we don’t fall back, it will be sunrise at 7:45 in mid December for some people. You don’t make any sense if you don’t understand that.

Jesus!!!! At no time since DST started has it been dark until 830.

Right now, if you wake up early enough, by 630, sun is starting to come up. I know this, because i go walk my dog around 645 every morning, and the sun is just peaking out. By the time i make it back to my house, the sun is up and everything is clearly visible.

Yep. We’ve discussed this at work a few times over the years. On the shortest days the sun will barely be up at 9am. We talked about rearranging the schedule, mainly due to safety issues of working in the dark.

Not just here. This affects different areas more than others. Northern states wouldn’t see sun until around 8-8:30 in winter based on this

I wish he’d sign an EO making it illegal to put ziplock bags over your own head. You know, just to watch the usual suspects suffocate themselves out of spite.

How many of the blue states choose to ignore this EO? Could get messy real fast.

Right now that is the case. Days keep getting shorter until Dec 21st.
When we fall back to standard time, it isnt daylight until well after 7am in December. If we stay on DST It would be 830 easily before one could work outside in December if time dont fall back.

AI tells me at winter soltice, the shortest days, there is 9 hrs and 49 minutes of daylight in Arkansas. On standard time that is 715-515 roughly. You leave it on DST it would be from 815-615pm. I dont think you can do much work outside until at least 830 if time dont fall back.
