Trump imposes 20% fee on Hormuz traffic

Dear brain trust,
Does this Trump guy listen to his economic advisors?
I’ve already accepted the unprecedented amounts of inflation since covid under sleepy joe, but now let’s just keep stacking onto the exorbitant amounts of inflation…the most in US history within that short amount of time (inflation is sticky, so will never go down—good luck with your 3% annual raises) so let me enjoy the entertainment I’m paying for.
Who needs global allies formed since WW2 anyway or being the global anchor currency. What’s the worse that could happen?
The truth is actually stranger than fiction.

When something doesn't make sense, it's because there's more to the story. It's something I've learned in a life of observing.
I wonder if this is an excuse for the US to pull over and inspect every boat coming and going to ensure Iran isn't trying to import or export something naughty.
With the added benefit of having leverage on the Asians that primarily use this straight. The communists.

In other words, gas prices are about to go up more while the strategic reserves are totally depleted. Just in time for the midterms too. I guess they really don’t want the SAVE Act passed.

I sure hope some 3D chess move like that is involved but I fear this is just an admission that the US is in for the long haul with Iran. More trying not to break the military budget because they expect to be there a long while. I hope I’m wrong but that is what I see.
I don’t know what went on around the time of the ceasefire but Trump has really struggled since. It’s like Joe Biden died a couple of months ago and his spirt possessed Trump. This is about the 5th worst idea I have heard out of him the past couple of months. I don’t know what to make of him these days.

Yes, no problem let’s pay a toll on something we didn’t have to do prior to this shitshow. Seems legit.

first off he hasn't "imposed" a fee. he proposed a fee to some countries to reimburse our cost.

We’ll talk was around a week or two ago the Hegseth, Rubio, and someone else was talking to Trump trying to get him to finish this already. He just won’t do it though. It’s been clear for a pretty long time now you will never get any kind of a legit deal out of this crew they are negotiating with currently. Time to remove a few more layers and see if they are smarter.

The clock is ticking economically. I just say take out the infrastructure now to advance talks—bite us on geneva convention bs. There’s too many cooks in the IRGC leadership kitchen already, probably already headed for an Iranian civil war, so just rip off the band aid and support the faction that aligns more with our interests.
