So what is the murder rate cut off for sending in troops? Chicago makes sense, maybe Nola too. Next Baton Rouge, right? What about Los Angeles, Austin, New York? Maybe we should just have federal troops in all our cities? I guess we'll just trust Trump to stop before "helping out troubled cities" transitions into creating a totalitarian state. I feel great about this.

Mandatory military service for anyone convicted of a felony for three years would be a great start. Put them in the merchant marines and let them go build roads in Somalia

Criminal Law and Family Law are the two areas that are still largely left to the states (although Family Law could see a slippery slope after Obergefell). I thought we loved state's rights around here?

I'm pretty sure most here aren't wanting a federal police force running things. Maybe they do under Trump but the thought of it happening under Obama would send them into talks of rebellion. We all agree something needs to be done with the lawlessness in cities like Chicago and Detroit but what's the answer other than tougher sentencing for criminals and the reemergence of a stable family unit some how.
