Damn. This hypothetical is causing all lefties to call him a coward. I'm going to venture over to the thread about the officers.. surely these same lefties have left a ton of comments , calling those officers cowards.. since their cowardice wasn't hypothetical.

Correct. An active shooter situation, law enforcement is directed to enter the building to elimate the threat no matter what situation. This day and age cowardnice is overlooked until a situation like this takes place.
But going forward, how many of you think about what you would do if something happens while you are out to eat with the family, in a movie or a large event?
Do you sit with your back to the door of the restaurant and not paying attention to everyone entering? Do you think to yourself what am I going to do if someone walks into this theater and starts shooting?
This isn’t for law enforcement only. Granted they see it everyday and have to think tactically while working but how often do YOU as a citizen think that way?
But going forward, how many of you think about what you would do if something happens while you are out to eat with the family, in a movie or a large event?

Id at least try and maintain calmness while using my senses to his location. Maybe even divert his attention outside by calling him a pussy or throwing a brick through a window. Yes, it may hit someone but he nay think it a smoke bomb or something and allow me time to get in and grt to him.
Takes quick wits and even I dont have that. A military mind would lnow how to approach the situation. It is apparent cops do not.
