Didn't McCain say that he wouldn't vote for any healthcare bill that Democrats wouldn't also support? So it sounds like the Democrats (not Trump) were effectively in control of the process, because the critical Republican vote was giving them control.

Don't fool yourself into thinking most of the Ronbots' TDS didn't make them never-Trumpers who wouldn't vote for him no matter what anyway. Most of them were already in that camp. So, frick em'.

The odds are slightly in Trump’s favor at present but there is no evidence of a landslide and March of election year has notoriously bad polling for incumbents.
