This is another dumb statement from Trump. Biden has one month left. Nothing is getting pinned on him at this point.
Shut the govt down and pass nothing but a bill with emergency relief money - that is the only message on spending that should go out right now. The other message should be: Motion to Vacate. Johnson is a coward and a failure.Trump refusing to call him out is weak.

For starters, they can leave our that thing about giving themselves another undeserved pay raise until they do their goddamn jobs
The vast majority of Congress members don't make the bulk of their annual income from their Congressional salaries.

I think the custom is for president-elects to keep their mouths mostly shut until they're sworn in. But Trump is not like most president-elects in that he's also a former president. Plus they stole the 2020 election from him and it should be his term right now anyway so he probably doesn't care about what's custom.
I think having a sitting “President” who hasn’t made an actual decision in 4 years probably plays a big part in this as well. Nobody is even really pretending this hasn’t been the case anymore.

What would the negotiation do?
It would just pass another short term CR to keep things going. Trump thinks that if they sign it now that it won't be pinned on him if it's a problem. Biden is insane, shits his pants, and has one month left. Nothing is getting pinned on him. Trump is playing defense already.

Why are we supporting any increase to the debt limit? Why isn't that a hard line for Republicans?

I was reading a thread on patriots.win and some people are confused that DJT doesn't seem to want a debt ceiling.

When has it ever been? They're half the problem.

If you're serious about spending the debt ceiling is literally the first variable to target at this time.
You nerf that and everything falls into place until the next continuing resolution, negotiated from a point of less spending then the alternative.

There’s also an incredible void with Joe and Kamala. If there was a steady presence from those two, I don’t know that he’d feel so directly in charge as much as just complaining from the sideline. He is the voice though

Other than Parks being closed, what’s the problem with a government shutdown? Let’s shut it down, and when it reopens, make them all go back to the office and cut the jobs by 90%. Simple really.
Then, force Congres to pass a budget and stop with these CRs and debt ceiling raises
