The idea of having someone who had accomplished things in the private sector, but never held political office, in my view, was a great elixir and something I'd like to see more of in that Office.

Did he do everything perfectly and exactly how I wanted? Of course not, but I'm an adult and realize such a person will never exist in that office.

Did he come with plenty flaws that he brought into the office? Of course, but I will take that with the idea that we had a guy who actually thought on his feet, wasn't afraid to make decisions, and was willing to trust the private sector to do a lot without government meddling.

All that said, are there people who actually LIKE the framework of what we have now. A pure puppet, making ZERO decisions on his own, who literally has done NOTHING in his life outside of government, and who is a complete puppet of an invisible party apparatus? If you do, what is appealing about that to you?

Orange Man Bad. Mean Tweets. Say bad things.

Now adults run foreign policy. Afghanistan lost. Russia invade Ukraine. Turkey attack Kurds. North Korea not talk to us. Saudi Arabia not talk to us. India not talk to us.

My friends who voted for Biden now claim that they "just don't really pay much attention to politics"...after spending 4 years obsessing over every little move Trump made.

He's not perfect, he's just the best in a generation, even if the field was weak.

good post

another thing people are openly starting to talk about too is that some leaders (good leaders) might sometimes say things to bide time, to move forward and not play their cards too quickly

literally maybe to not end up getting assassinated

Trump was way more anti-war than anyone expected him to try to be, and the neocons and the bloodthirsty leftists lost their fricking minds because of it

again, he couldn't go all the way with it, out of survival

All they cared about was getting Trump out of office. Orange man bad ruined Twitter for them.

They don't give a shite about anything else. Economy, foreign relations, inlfation, immigration, etc..

ACTUAL issues are meaningless to them. Trump bad. Biden good.

I don't buy that for one second.

What he did not know was what he was getting into.

Now he knows. I guarantee you that he has a list of 50,000 scumbag swamp creatures that will be terminated on Day 1 when he wins in 2024. And he will also have a list of people he can trust in his cabinet instead of unknowingly having half of his staff being swamp rats too.

HHTM is already broken, no need to give him a heart attack.

Well, name-calling doesn't exactly make you look like someone willing to debate, now does it?

You said he did what he did because of "survival". I disagree that he ever had his life in any danger.

But go ahead and call me another name. Will surely reinforce your point of view.

Mega agree.

I would like an age limit.

You have to be older than 35. I love it. Gain some life experience. Now we need a cap on the other end. Cant be 75 and be President. A 71 year old can run and serve 1 term.

At 72, gtfo.

Yep, even today it’s like finding a four-leaf clover to find someone who can speak out against any policies he had.

The hatred was all driven around personality and being a raciss or Nazi (never mind the guy had been in the public eye for well over 40 years and rubbed elbows with all sorts of celebs and had a long running TV show).

I loved the GOB is Prez as well. He was actually getting this country headed in a great direction despite being fought tooth and nail by the whackos and their devotees every single day.

Name a president that didn't have flaws. Trump is the best president in ages.

I love Trump, but he borderline can't govern. It's not his fault. The swamp is too deep. You either need some swamp rats to navigate it or have to nominate a few because that is the only people who get approved. The problem with that is those people scheme against you. How is he going to take on the whole intelligence apparatus again? They will lie and leak on him all over again. Milley and Vindman were supposed to be on his side and backstabbed him. That is why I kind of want to see what DeSantis can do. Maybe he can be a more operable light version of Trump.

The French election will be fascinating. I have been watching a podcast where they say the French version of the deep state would be ten times worse to Le Pen than ours was to Trump. God, I hope she wins.

Trump was fun because he took off the gloves and fought the left the way they fight - and he was better than them. The problem with Trump is he’s not a conservative. His only core belief is in his own majesty.
