Jesus Christ, it's like the man can't be a human anymore now that he's president. I don't know about you, but id much rather have a real, relatable man in office that's not concerned with appeasing the PC crowd than a robotic political arse-kissing machine. And DJT is right, Hammonds was SO much better and portrayed Trump as the enigma he often is.

Whether someone is considered a buffoon or not usually has no bearing on their character. The Republican party controls Congress, has a moderate in office as President, has the supreme court set as conservative for decades to come and is set to appoint the most federal judges in history but the party is in shambles.
