The justification for the steel and aluminum tariffs was absurd. It was labeled as a national security issue, and you marketed it as such too.
Now that SK will let us sell 25,000 more cars per year, the steel tariff on SK is no longer a national security issue?
This is a weak argument. You're against tariffs but now you're bitching over the justification given? Wgaf. Now there is no tariff yet we get to export more cars to them. Status quo plus a bonus for us. What are you upset about?

The tariff is useful as a bargaining chip. Sure, we'll remove the tariff, if you give us something we want, and in every case where Trump has agreed to an exemption he's gotten something he wanted. That's called making a deal. Something we as a country haven't done in years, these other countries were quite content to watch us capitulate on every deal and get screwed, but why are YOU complaining about us doing things differently now?
His point is exactly correct, and you missed it entirely.

The national security argument is its stated legal justification, and best chance of surviving legal challenge. Yet the administration's other statements and actions have repeatedly undermined that very argument directly.
Maybe you'd like retaliations from our trade partners, sanctioned by the rules of the WTO that we've agreed to. I don't.
