If you're not deployed to the large bases you don't see the President anyway.

Having VIPs show up is an extreme pain in the arse that disrupts the. Normal battle rhythm.

So because not all troops see the president, no troops should see the president? That’s the best argument you can come up with?

And the vast majority of troops aren’t going to be upset with an altered schedule if it means seeing the president of the united states. I think you know that.

I don’t understand why y’all feel the need to defend this with what you know are weak arguments. You can support trump and still disagree with individual decisions he makes. As an individual act, this strikes me as a very unfortunate decision.

Going to see them vs bringing them home

How unfortunate

They probably don't want to see his sniveling, cowardly, fat arse anyway. He would just give a speech about himself. A good bowel movement would be just as productive.

If you ask someone serving downrange if they would rather see the President or their families, 10 times out of 10 they would choose the latter.

The OP kind of walked in to this one

Instead of visiting troops overseas, he's actually trying to bring them home.

I used to think the mantra that if Trump found a cure for cancer liberals would somehow argue that cancer was good was just hyperbole. Now, I'm not so sure

Take out Korea and a visit to the DMZ and tell me how many POTUS trips to a combat zone there are...

Article for your answer.

Well no shite. But for the thousands serving overseas, wouldn’t it be better to see the president than to see neither?

I already stated that I support bringing home as many as possible. False equivalency is false

Not if it completely screws up your schedule.

Getting through a deployment is all about getting into a routine to make the days go quicker.

Of course someone who has never served in Korea, Iraq, or Afghanistan (I have 6 tours between those three) would downvote facts.

Wow, it is so heartwarming to see the genuine concern for the troops that has suddenly manifested in the left... first it was troops deployed to the border over Thanksgiving and now "no POTUS visit" at Christmas...
