Is this normally done after a mass shooting?

It was not an attack on the freedom of speech.

The paper slandered the guy. They didn't help "free speech" any by abusing it.

There is already a thread on this.

I think it is absurd to lower the flag during july 4th because of a office shooting.

Check the webcams in Chicagostan and see if the flags ever rise above half staff then report back.

Oh wait a minute, WHITE local newspaper reporters and salesclerks are more important than the ... Naw, say it ain't so!

Personally I think he should have them lowered on the 5th.

But, as usual, the media is making more out of this than there is.

The same people who blast trump for offering "thoughts and prayers" freak out when he doesn't lower the flag.

They absolutely did not slander him. The guy’s entire case against the paper was posted here a week back and the dude was an absolute loon with absolutely no evidence of slander. The paper acurately conveyed who he was.

That said, yea, unequivocally not an attack on freedom of speech. But we also don’t need to tell bold faced lies to convey that. This was just a major fricktard doing major fricktard things. No need to paint it as anything more than that.

1.) It wasn't an attack on the press, it was personal.
2.) You hate the first amendment.

It was freaking not. It was about a guy who had a personal grudge against specific people at this specific paper. It had nothing to do with anything else.

Goes to show you how desperate these people are to spin narratives.

Lowering the flag to half staff for this crime would not be appropriate.

It is traditionally for the memorialization of prominent governmental officials.

Anyone outraged by this is low T and likely allows dogs to lick peanut butter from his testicles.
