Our society can live in a perpetual state of grief these days if we allow it.

There’s always some famous person dying or some tragedy somewhere. Lowering the flag loses its meaning with all the lowering we’ve been doing.

The press are the enemy.

They don't deserve this honor.

When more leave this earth, looking at you CNN and all others, we will be better off.

Personally I think he should have them lowered on the 5th.

I don't. We can't have flag lowering every time that multiple people are murdered for whatever reason. I remember here in Arkansas about 30 or years ago the guy, Ronald Gene Simmons, who killed 16 people. Some were family members and some were people he had worked with. I believe the murders were carried out in three different locations.

I agree it was the worst thing that could happen to those 16 innocent people but did it warrant lowering flags nationwide? No it didn't.

If we begin lowering the flag for these random type killing events, then we're not far from having a permanently lowered flag. I really don't think that was the intention of flag lowering and what it represents. The fact those people recently killed were media people doesn't make them anymore important than those 16 killed in Arkansas imo.

No more than the Alison Parker, Adam Ward murders were. There were no calls to lower flags then. None whatsoever. Fake news is shameful.

Yes

In your opinion

Good for DJT holding steadfast on this. Thought they didn’t want thoughts and prayers?

Terrible this happened but they were targeted by a jilted guy, not because they were a paper (who knew of potential threat and did nothing to protect their baws). Please GFY now.

Is this normally done after a mass shooting?

Trump had the flag lowered after the school shooting in TX a few weeks ago

So you disagree that Trump lowered the flag after the Texas school shooting? What standard are we using?

For the record, I'm not losing sleep over this. But doesn't it seem pretty arbitrary?

I'd go with a public entity supported by government as opposed to a private entity that is not.

Its for the best. It wasn't an attack on the press, it was a deranged dude with a vendetta against certain people. We should not be giving these people attention
