Hey fair enough, different experiences. Personally, I don't think it's needed. They got the NG picking up trash in DC, seems pretty performative to me. Maybe Latoya will give them the new trash contract instead of IV waste or the other fella

Latoya already looks incompetent. When she appeared on Meet the Press
awhile back she was a joke.

It’s probably safer for everyone if you stay away indefinitely.

Check out the "classification" of what murder is. For example, you get shot in the streets, but still alive when you get to the hospital. You then die in the hospital. Guess what, it's not classified as a murder.
Shootings are down, too. All violent crime is.

I’m against troops doing regular police work in our cities.
That being said, if Gov Landry accepts the help and the city of New Orleans sees results like DC has this could be a big win for Trump politically.
We still have to address the issue of lenient DAs and judges in these crime ridden cities though.

crime rates down does not make the poor parent/ spouse/ child feel better that their loved one was killed by a bullet and in a meaningless crime.
No one suggested this.
But crime rates down does mean less of those people on the whole? Which is good?
I'm confused as to why you're upset about there being less crime in New Orleans than in recent years?
Or are you just assuming the cops are lying about all violent crimes being down?

I wonder If it’s done statewide if the AG’s office could set up a special master of some sort for gang and drug related offenses in NOLA, S’Port and BRLA?

Gov Landry can deploy the NG to New Orleans if he wanted to.

Didn't they increase state police presence a while back?

This is hilarious, and true.

From what I understand the NG is only a part of the strategy behind what’s going on DC. The overarching plan seems to include a surge of federal LEOs to help police the streets and extra attorneys from the JAG Corps to help prosecute offenders. The guardsmen are just the most visible part as a show of force and to free up actual LEOs to police the more dangerous parts of the cities.

It’s not that hard to avoid serious danger in New Orleans. It’s like most large cities. Cramped quarters with large wealth disparity. Certain areas will have more crime than others, with occasional spillover. Pretty much every city of any size will be the same way, Red or Blue State.

Fair enough and I thought that when I typed it. "Even more" might be a better qualifier there.

Never felt any issue with crime or felt scared.
That doesn't mean the problem isn't there. It just means you're stupid and oblivious.

Am I stupid or just know how to stay out of trouble? It’s not hard. There’s crime everywhere, ultimately it’s just about your level of risk tolerance and/or fear I guess.

Are you a black or Hispanic male involved in a gang? Are you going into low income areas looking for drugs? If not, you have a better chance of being killed in a car accident than being murdered in NOLA.
You better stay locked in your house just in case.
