I also live here. Never felt any issue with crime or felt scared. I don’t think the NG is needed.

That would be a great pivot -

Make Latoya look incompetent. Make Pritzker and co look stupid. New Orleans wins. Louisiana wins.

Make the blue states ask for it. Go around to all the blue cities in red states and prove the concept.

"Hey, just enforce the law and see what happens."
sums it up nicely. I hope it goes pretty much like that.

Everybody, except illegals and criminals, CAN win here- politically included... if they just let it happen.

Buddy, if you were not the least bit concerned from mid-late 2021 to late 2023/early 2024 then you must have not left your house.

This place was the worst it has been in my adult life and that is saying something. It was the wild fricking west for awhile.

You voted to live in a police state with the military walking the streets?

The roads are still the wild west honestly, but I don't think the NG is gonna be pulling people over for traffic violations.

Are you often getting into scenarios where you are putting your life at risk?

New Orleans and Memphis (blue cities in red states) - are in the Top 30 for the planet. That's unacceptable (or should be) in the United States.

But they are slightly less dangerous this year. Stay away.

NOLA on pace to have its lowest murder rate in 50 years.

Check out the "classification" of what murder is. For example, you get shot in the streets, but still alive when you get to the hospital. You then die in the hospital. Guess what, it's not classified as a murder.

Murder rates go down...

During that time just existing was doing so. I had 2 different friends carjacked just leaving work at 5 during that time, one in midcity another in the CBD. Among many other things.

It USED to be true that if you stayed out of certain areas, and weren't involved in bad stuff, you were fine

Those times changed for awhile and you could get shot in good neighborhoods. It was lawless. I have friends in the DA and AG's office who both said the whole thing was fricked at that time.

MAYBE Crime is going back to being a bit more localized.

You are putting your head in the sand though.

Having the NG patrolling the FQ probably isn’t the best use of resources.

LOL. Where could these resources be used in a better way? What other use are they being taken away from?

Hilarious that you think I made it up. If you bury your head any further you'll be up to your ankles in sand.

ETA: And, crime rates down does not make the poor parent/ spouse/ child feel better that their loved one was killed by a bullet and in a meaningless crime. No loss of life is better than "Crime rates are down" BS.
