Good friends? There are multiple reports stating the exact opposite.
Occam would also indicate that if Trump was involved the previous Administrations would have leveraged that.

The victims lawyer has said that Donald Trump had nothing to do with anything and instead was the only person in that orbit who attempted to help the victims.
