More like dirigisme. But whatever. This is being done for national security reasons and it is not even close to a new thing in this country. I'm pretty sure the Government still owns a dominant stake in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, for instance. GM, Chrysler, GMAC/Ally Financial, etc, etc, etc.

People are going to cry about it because they cry about everything Trump does, but like I said, this would be happening regardless of who was in office.

They have. Look into the Tennessee Valley Authority. They have a long history of doing this in both the energy AND agricultural sectors.

It's ok to admit you're just bitching because it's Trump though. We understand how you people roll.

Well you let me know when that actually comes to fruition and we can have that conversation

Until then its just fodder for the TDS to complain and cry

By those standards, people shouldn't discuss (positively or negatively) about 85% of what Trump says and what ideas his admin floats

I'm shocked that people think this is a party specific issue. Such people are fricking stupid.

You should know that this sort of thing has been ongoing in this country for nearly 100 frickin years then. Regardless of party.

As I said, this would be happening no matter who was in there. Anyone being honest with themselves knows this.

Whether people want to recognize it or not AI development is considered a transformative National Security technology on par with nuclear weapons. And our main competition is communist China.

The US will not under any circumstances allow itself to lose that race.

So your argument is because its been done in the past you now cannot disagree with it?

Any AI company backed by the federal government would undoubtedly receive favorable regulatory conditions

It's essentially completely unregulated right now. How could you make it more favorable?

Nothing said here matters nor will it ever

We are varying degrees of retards discussing things that vaguely effect our lives and have no control over

With that said, we can still have philosophical discussion about it

This is true. And my position here is that this is a much more important deal than buying stakes in more banks as we have done many times.
