There are a few true things happening all at once.
Trump is a massive troll and often goes way over the top with his rhetoric. It's part of the reason people loved him; he was willing to say the quiet parts out loud. It's also true, that sometimes, that attitude and defiant demeanor gets turned onto people that it shouldn't and he missteps. I really like some Trump policies and there are some that I don't, however, I pretty much abhor almost every mainstream leftist policy that the Dems put out there. I think it's reasonable to judge Trump on a case by case issue and one doesn't have to like or get hyperbolic about every single policy one way or the other. It's just part of the give and take with Trump that he's going to do/say some wild things that he shouldn't at times.
