says what it says. It says that no one OUGHT to have to pay income taxes on more than 40 hours worth of labor. Does it not?
You thought it said that was the rule. You even doubled down on it.
Piss off commie fig.

I would seriously consider stepping down from my salary job and go back to an hourly employee. 7 - 10's every other week on outages. Might finally be able to afford to stop eating these cats...

And 40 hours is a standard work week dumbass.
What makes it a "standard work week?"
Who decided that?
And why?

Fair labor Standards Act in order to give a benefit to people who work….wait for it OVERTIME!!!

O.k., now this time I really laughed hard out loud.
I put it in quotes, you mindless cretin.
That means I was indicating that YOU think it should be some kind of rule, but it obviously isn't.
You might be the stupidest person on this board. Do you know what kind of accomplishment that would be?

Henry Ford and unions?

Not even close. Not by over an order of magnitude. Since 2001 we've spent $2.3 T on war. That's barely ONE YEAR's worth of SS/Medicare. We're $35 T in debt. It wouldn't have even moved the needle. It amazes me how many of y'all complain so bitterly about what the US spends money on when you obviously have no clue what we actually spend money on.
You have to start somewhere. Stop wasting money on foreign wars and building Afghanistan/Iraq and keep that money here. Just because it won’t cover the entire cost doesn’t mean I am wrong.

That doesn't answer who did it.
Very liberal Democrats did it.
And the "why" is incorrect.
And I quote: "the US government saw the shorter work week as a way to fight the massive unemployment crisis. Companies would need to hire more workers to get the job done."
They did it to create demand for more labor during the GD when unemployment was so high.
Did you vote for Carter? If not I'll never understand why. You're a real Norma Rae.

Then why did you claim there was?

Dude, shut the frick up. You asked him where was the rule. He plainly said it should be a rule. Of course he thinks it should be a rule. That's what this entire thread is about.

Um, yes it does.
Go back and read what your claim was. It 100% means you were wrong.
Also, if we're going to go with this, "Aw shucks, maybe it doesn't cover but a tiny fraction of the debt, but golly gee, we have to start somewhere," then you certainly can't cut taxes on overtime, because we need every bit of revenue we can generate to pay down that debt. Every little bit counts, right?

I see that another moron has joined the fray.
I would say, shhhh, the adults are talking, but I might be one of only two adults here and the other one hasn't posted in a while.

Trump’s policies are all about taking less of what’s yours from you. Lower taxes, less theft of your paycheck.
Kamala is all about giving you stuff for free from the taxes she’s collected.
A big contrast between the candidates and one that will translate to a Trump win if Americans still have any pride and self determination left.

Why?
Someone who actually WORKS for their money wouldn't need t ask that question.
Someone not on govt handouts; you know, a person that a decent piece of azz AND a hards days work would totally knock their dick in the dirt!!
A feckless low-life....

We aren’t paying down that debt. You and I both know that. We are too far gone. At this point we are basically fricked anyway meanwhile we can afford to be the military for the entire world. Small consolation when we collapse. I’ve heard that 2 trillion dollar number referenced for the foreign wars post 9/11. That’s more than likely a very lowball number. I suspect each one of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq are well over 2 trillion each. The figure from this Brown University study is likely closer to the truth. These wars are pushing 8 trillion. That’s not insignificant. You are correct that doesn’t solve the problems. We need to bring in more revenue or cut programs. We will do neither. I am confident of that. We are determined to bankrupt ourselves.
