I’m a registered independent
I will never vote Democrat
I will never vote Democrat

Can someone explain to me what a two party "system" is?
When I go to vote there are at least 4 parties on the ballot I can vote for.

How about you?
Explain how the fact that there are two most popular parties out of many constitutes a "system," and what would be different if that "system" didn't exist?

That’s really your best come back?
Super creative. Well done.

Similar concept: “No Party” means you’re a democrat running in a deep red parish.

The only independent candidate I can remember who had a shot was Ross Perot. I was going to vote for him but he pulled out of the race.

Bottom 2 are throwaway votes that enable the left’s destruction of our nation.

That depends. A slow death is miserable.

Independent means neither party represents you.
With maybe a handful of exceptions, do you really think any member of the Republican or Democrat Party really cares for the American people? Trump may not be perfect, but I have never seen any other person I put close to 100% confidence in! That's why I say I am MAGA, not a Repub or Democrap.

One of the biggest problems we have. But both parties and the media are invested in propping up this bullshite.

Sigh……
A third party vote is, in fact, a vote for the third party candidate. It is not a vote for your two party guy’s opponent. It never will be no matter how much you try to justify it.
If I get socialism voting for Democrats and socialism lite voting for Republicans, why on earth would I vote for either of them just so I can ‘win’. It’s retarded.

In other words, its a wasted vote that serves no purpose outside of enabling the evil left.

Because the left's type of socialism is extreme woke retarded, which is far worse.

An immediate death, in terms of politics, is far worse.
Independents/Libertarians don't value "normal" enough.

I disagree. Only way to maintain sanity is to be an independent. If your political ideology becomes your identity you're screwed. You have to maintain political independence, in order to critically think. Otherwise you get pulled to the poles of being a pre-programmed cuck woke-bot or a sycophant maga stooge.

What if something better comes later? Do you really believe that this house of cards will last?
Posted on 2/25/26 at 8:17 pm to djsdawg
True, but people are less likely to resist if they still have a modicum of comfort.
COVID was a perfect example of comfortable authoritarianism.

Perfectly said. Most people are being programmed to be useful idiots by the elites into fighting each other while they sit on a hill and toast to their portfolios getting fatter.

I dont think something better comes later.
I would rather try to make it last than to tear it down ASAP.

O.k., but everyone says the "Two Party System" as though there is something about the electoral system that only allows two parties.
Which is clearly not the case, as there are more than two parties represented in every election (at least there is in my state).
"The system" can't help it if almost 100% of people choose to vote for one or the other of the same two parties every election.
So I'm trying to understand what people mean when they say that.

But not because of "the system."
Just because people don't want to vote for anyone else.
