God allowed Satan to fall and then to tempt Adam and Eve.

God allowed evil to exist for a greater good.

Did anyone besides Mary? The apostles believed because of faith. What are you even arguing?

You're like an atheist meme generator

Original sin? You mean God telling us that we’re bad for being the way he made us to be?

I mean in his writings he knew nothing of the virgin birth. He spoke of Jesus as a mythological figure

You're wrong on this, Foo. It's that simple.

Please support your argument, then. Your argument so far has been that God calls for an eye for an eye in terms of justice and we only live for a short time as sinners on earth. Your argument seems to be that it is the length of time that we are criminals, rather than the severity of the offense, that determines our punishment. That wasn't even the standard in Old Testament Israel with the ceremonial and civil laws. Certain offenses were treated differently due to the nature of the offense.

On the other hand, we have clear teaching about Hell. It's an "eternal fire" and "unquenchable fire" (Matt. 25:41; Matt. 3:2). It's "where [the] worm does not die and the fire not quenched" (Mark 9:44-49). It's a place of eternal torment of God's wrath (Luke 16:19-31; Rev. 14:10-11). Those who go there suffer "eternal destruction" (2 Thess. 1:9--note that it is eternal destruction, not a one-time destruction and then they are annihilated). Just as the righteous through Christ receive eternal life, so too do those who are unrighteous receive eternal punishment (Matt. 25:41-46).

The "eye for an eye" standard is a right way to look at eternal punishment; the severity of the offense determines the severity of the punishment. Our sins against an infinitely perfect and holy God require an infinite payment, and that is why the fires of Hell never go out.

Original sin is the moral guilt we have inherited from Adam, humanity's first representative. It's a concept of federal headship where one person acts on behalf of, or represents, others. In this case, Adam represented the entire human race, and when he sinned, his sin was imputed, or accounted to, all his posterity.

Jesus is also a federal head or representative. If we put our trust in His sacrifice on the cross, then He represents us before God rather than Adam, and Christ's righteousness is accounted to us, covering even the sin of Adam.

Isaiah 45 addresses this specifically.

Everything comes from God and he has the integrity to own responsibility for it.

But you are responsible for your behavior and your lack of faith. You need to acknowledge your sin and come to terms with the God who will call you to account. Accept his son as payment for your sin. There's no reason to be angry at God. He provided you a way to wash your sins away because he is merciful and loving.

You can't have evil without good. How else would one determine what is 'good' without having something to which to compare? It's like asking how we can have "light" without "darkness".

My argument comes from personal experience and from studying more than just the Bible. As I said, "the Christians have this wrong." Meaning I'm not looking at it from a Christian perspective. Quoting the Bible isn't going to change my opinion.

The writings of Paul are a huge part of the New Testament, how many times does he mention or even imply that he knows about the virgin birth? Now who is dumb?

He knew the Old Testament fairly well.

quote:

3. Isaiah 7:14

“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.”

This Scripture points to the manner in which he will born, and also to one of the names given to Christ: Immanuel, meaning God with us. This was pointing to both his human birth and his divine nature. This was written over 700 years before Christ was born.

People who spout things about Christ's second coming and then rail against the left kinda freak me out. I mean, I love the Lord Jesus with all my heart.. Plus I dislike most Dem policies but this combo just puts you in freakville. I bet you post in Q threads.

I have already supported my argument. Have you died? I have. As I said, I have personal experience. And have studied a whole lot about said experience.

I take first hand accounts of people who have experienced actual death much more seriously than the words about it from people who never experienced it themselves and lived 2,000 years ago.

As I said, the Christians have this wrong.

So how does that square with the personal experiences of Catholics who have witnessed Jesus and Mary and spoken with them as they confirm their beliefs? Obviously you're wrong because their personal experiences say so.

Because they were on a valid path. I'm not saying Christianity itself is wrong. Just the part about hell.

I don't know. Jesus seemed pretty adamant. As is Isaiah 66.
