Draw a time line in this nation from when people allowed and started replacing God with Gov and it mirrors our decline.

God helps those who help themselves. If you sit on your hands waiting for the rapture, you will recline your way to your coffin. And nowhere does it tell Christians to push their beliefs aside nor to deny Christ at any point in time or phase of life.

Nor did I tell them to. You cannot give up on living in the here and now in the hopes that the rapture will make planning for the future unnecessary. That is insane. Jesus told us that we will not know the date nor the time for a reason. The reason was so that we could both be prepared by living a just and righteous life, but also so that we would not ignore the future.

Jesus would not want his followers to behave like there is no tomorrow. While your soul should be ever vigilant, your personal life should be prepared for 1000 generations to follow. If you give up on seeking justice in the here and now, and instead decide to wait for the rapture, you will receive no justice AND no rapture to make your suffering worthwhile.

Render to Caesar what is Caesar’s, to God what is God’s, and always be or create the Justice you seek in the world because no one else will do it for you.

You know that line is not it the Bible right? If anything the teachings or Jesus say the exact opposite, “god helps those that can’t help themselves”

True, because Jesus and US politics go hand in hand. This is sarcasm, but it really blows my mind, that if God is real, that y’all believe that his timeline of events correlate with US politics. God doesn’t give two shits about US politics.

Do you really argue that the early leaders of the church didn’t believe Christ was coming back in the near future?

It is clear when reading the New Testament, that it's writers believed that Jesus was coming for them very shortly. In their letters to God's people, they outlined what was to come as if it were coming in their day.

We would also have to say that Paul & the other apostles wrote of God's soon coming to specific people & churches that they knew because In their heart, they thought that the people they personally knew (in their day) was to be the last generation of this Earth!

The apostles thought Jesus would come in their day, but He did not. Instead, what Paul, John & the other apostles were describing was really to happen way in the future, the future that is to occur in the last generation.

If this is true, then can we continue to say that all the books of the Bible were only written for those who lived in the past? No!

All along, God has designed things so that God's book would always be relevant to God's people because the Bible is pointing to an event that is yet to happen. It is to happen in the last days of this Earth's history.

The Books of the Bible were written especially for the last generation of this world. This is true whether the writers of the Bible were aware of this fact or not. God designed it by limiting their knowledge of when this world would end. He didn't lie, He just did not tell us everything.

It was in love that God allowed first the writers and then the readers to believe that God was coming in their day. So that made the book special to every generation that is able to read the books of the Bible. Because they felt God was coming in their day, it actually changed their whole outlook on life. Missionaries have covered the whole globe telling people about Jesus' soon coming. God has probably saved people's lives by doing this. It is one of the best gifts that God could have given us!

God helps those who would help themselves. He doesn’t help those who give up and sit on their hands. He helps those who do everything within their power to better their situation, but need a helping hand to get over the top. One should never give up completely on themselves and their fellow man to trust in God. One should trust in God by putting faith that if they give their all, God will help them through.

The more this gets overlooked, the more evangelical, conservative catholics and fundamentalists look retarded and cult-like.

It’s not overlooked, it’s just that non-believers don’t believe the Bible so they pick and choose verses that the internet told them disproves Christianity and run with it. You could easily study the Bible and find the answer yourself, but you don’t have an open mind so you won’t.

You also know that Paul didn’t write about Jesus as an actual living person? He knew nothing of the virgin birth etc? Anything happening with Jesus was in a mythological realm

Take no thought for tomorrow in getting your spiritual house in order, not your physical one. Seek forgiveness for your sins, repent, and sin no more. Then, lead a just and godly life for your progeny, that they may inherit a better Earth and be prepared for the son’s return themselves.

The potential immediacy of the second coming was meant to spur believers to action rather than inaction.

Both Christianity and Q have predicted BS that hasn’t come to pass, along with the other thousands of charlatans and religions current and in history. They always will have an answer about why it didn’t happen when they said, it’s classic cult behavior

At least we agree that Christianity is only valued and held dear by conservatives.

Matthew 5:11
“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.”

Proverbs tells us a lot about people of your kind.

Proverbs 1:22
“How long, o simple ones, will you love being simple? How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge?”

Proverbs 15:12
A scoffer does not like to be reproved; he will not go the wise.

Proverbs 21:24
“Scoffer is the name of the arrogant, haughty man who acts with arrogant pride.”

Exactly, many of these thinkers are Deist, they believed in human rights, not God given ones that allowed people to own slaves, carry on how they pleased, etc

Yet honoring thy mother and father is a direct commandment.

Jesus was stating that his disciples needed to be willing to give up everything to follow him, because losing everything was the likely outcome.

Just because you should be prepared to defy one’s parents for the sake of Christ, and to be prepared to lose everything for your faith does not mean you should become passive in your faith. It means you should be the opposite. You should not be withdrawing from the world, but rather confronting it.

No disrespect, but things in this country have gone to sharply downhill since we decided we didn't want a god over us. When atheists agree that Christian principles are good for our society, it's time to listen.
