I am trying to figure out why he was not shot earlier. Is the new standard for police to engage in hand to hand combat?

They are an untouchable class. Summer of 2020 didn't help, neither does the system in place

'community leader'

What's the difference between a community "leader" and a community "organizer"?

ETA: don't mean to make light of any of this. The guy was out of control and could've killed a lot of innocent people in the trooper's car.

The cop was saying “hiya” with every punch. He probably was wondering why his karate was not working on this guy on side of the interstate like it worked so many times on the suburban mom of 3 at the local strip mall dojo

I guess that's why they called him a "force in the community".

All the things I would do if I were black for a day.

The list is getting longer.

I'm a bit confused. Did he beat the cop senseless and then steal his car? Or did he steal a car, crash it and then got shot by the cop?

It is a rather disjointed video... good question!

Also, how'd he get access to the cop car?

No one is more critical of police in many cases than I am but I'm not fricking crazy.

This dude was begging for a lead party.

It’s interesting what qualifies as a “community leader” in some communities

I think he had crashed his car. Trooper rolls up on him and he attacks the Trooper and steals his cruiser. Then is pit maneuvered by another Trooper and shot. As far as I can tell.
