I know one lady from a very conservative family who turned lib after reading to kill a mockingbird.

I welcome its cancellation. Its a good book but too much risk in creating more Karens.

I read it in high school. It was one of the more enjoyable reads (The Great Gatsby is a terribly boring book. There is absolutely no reason it should be considered a classic). I never felt any white guilt about it, but I don't feel white guilt about anything. Quite the opposite really.

Christine Blasey Ford says this an affront to the #metoo movement:

“...you're just a bunch of lousy, yella, stinkin' cowards, the - the whole bunch of ya, and your fancy airs don't come to nothin'. Your Ma'am'in' and your Miss Mayellarin' - it don't come to nothin'!”

Lots of cucks bitching and moaning about your post, but you're right: TKAM was white-guilt all the way. Ironic, considering that Lee had Atticus Finch becoming a segregationist in Go Set A Watchman.

Agreed but look at all the upvotes he’s getting. What does that say about this board?

It says you don’t recognize a troll.

bullshite. I'm not "cool with book burnings". But you know what else I'm not cool with? My kids being trained to hate themselves and their families and their forefathers, by teachers trying to instill some kind of f#&%ed up blood libel.

I don’t know what’s more disturbing. The fact you actually typed that thought out or that other people agreed with you enough to upvote it.

OP is just fricking around since it was your comrades who actually want to ban it bc of hurt feelings

It’s the liberals who want to ban it.

There are stories... too many to dismiss out of hand... that Kirk Douglas was quite fond of raping potential co-stars while he "evaluated" them while reading for roles, the most famous supposedly being Natalie Wood. Robert Downey Jr. has hinted that this is open knowledge in Hollywood.

Downvote. That is a great book. What curriculum was it removed from and why?

One delicious side-effect of The Revolution is how the younger revolutionaries are eating the older ones. The "Resistance" is banning Harper Lee and Mark Twain. Thomas Jefferson, who was pretty damned liberal for his day, is probably going to be erased from the very University he built. JK Rowling is about to be canceled for resisting one.... just ONE... tenet of The Revolution.
